Please take your time to take the test. It's really crazy. Shows that I have a moderate preference for white people eventhough I feel I'm not a racist/prejudiced by any means! Take it and tell me your results! It was on the Oprah show today.

hahaha!
It was presented in a way to get you used to associating white with good and black with bad, then it changed to trick you into answering incorrectly.
It doesn't prove anything about racism.
It is simply an exercise of trained association.

If the test was more honest, it would not encourage you to answer so quickly (obviously an attempt to trick you into answering incorrectly).
Also, there should be varieties of the test where the good/bad/black/white are switched in a different order randomly so as to not generate the highest number of errors on the last one.

What a crock!

I really don't understand the point of this test ... I mean honestly who isn't biased or "racist" and "having prejudice" as everyone likes to say

The definition of prejudice : any unreasonable attitude that is unusually resistant to rational influence

The definition of racist : 1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

Just because you are slightly more comfortable around a certain race doesn't make you a racist or a person with prejudice.

I'm going to keep this short but it's not only white people who can be racist:

Just an example here of racism against white people and against the jewish religion:

Quote Taken from CongressionalBadBoys.com - The Honorable Gus Savage, on the day he was defeated in a primary election for Congress, blamed the "white racist press and the racist, reactionary Jewish misleaders" for his loss, comparing himself to the slain Martin Luther King, Jr., and Malcolm X.

- Just so you know Gus Savage was defeated by Mel Reynolds, a young African-American reformer.

Racism is blown way out of proportion and it goes two ways white people aren't the only ones who can be racist.

I took this test for one of my classes and it stated that I little to no preference for either race, on the other hand my mother had moderate preference for White, hmmm???? that's some socialization, I'm more independent and usually independent pple don't follow the path as others...

FLING POOP, LOL, your test results are GOOD hello!!!!

this test really isn't about implicit racism it's about WHAT race YOU WOULD LIKE TO IDENTIFY WITH THE MOST, on an IMPLICIT BASIS, nothing to do with racism

This test should not be taken seriously, the method is just stupid, plus they say in the FAQ that the results could change if you take it twice.... a test about racism should ask real questions on real situations, and not be some kind of game

I got only slight automatic preference for whites over black but im not prejudiced, its because media makes people think this way... I much better than most black people that did the test, some got moderate. I wish i got little or no automatic preference.

To be blunt, I think the test is CRAP.
Think about it.... For example- You're given a word that is considered "good".... Let's say "joy".... And you're asked to choose between African American/Bad and European American/Good.
How many of you chose (or would choose) the WORD "good" because it discribes the WORD "joy" regardless of the picture (race)? That's exactly what I did. I associated words with words, except when the words discribed race (African American or European American)... When the words discribed race, I chose what I thought to be the appropriate picture.
For this reason (and others), I think the test was designed to perpetuate racism- to add fuel to the fire, so to speak.

What the hell is wrong with the people at Harvard. I understand the way it works but that doesn't mean that you don't like white people more then black people if you messed up. It means you were confused because of the way they presented the experiment. If they had first paired European Americans with Bad in the 4 category section, then everyone would slightly prefer the company of black people. Why would Harvard be so lame. I though they were suppose to be the best school in the country. No wonder they lose to Yale so often in the Yale Bowl.

Yes, I got the same thing. But I honestly feel it has more to do with the fact that they set up the white/good category together first. I got so used to hitting E for good and white...and I for black and bad. Then when it changed it was tough.

Sorry, I don' t feel that show anything at all. But, I do think that as a white person I'm more drawn to the white features...just as blacks are more drawn to black features. The good and bad aspect is really ridiculous.
