Better idea -I found the perfect product for this that I've used for years and know dozens of other people that use it. It is a natural carbon product called FRIDGE IT carbon odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great and eliminates the odors and for a long time. It works so much better than baking soda all those sprays, and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. Also, alot of sprays have warning statements about being eye irritant. and gels and oils that say keep away from fabric, pets, etc. and just don't eliminate odors. Just place one in your car and trunk. Each only costs a couple of dollars. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it and internet. Definitely worth trying

Well the expensive way is to have it professionally cleaned. But there is a cheaper way that has worked for me. Wipe down the interior with a hot wash rag. Vacuum out the seats and floor mats. Then spray freebreeze on your seats, floors, and roof. (on the inside.) As long as they are clothe. Keep the windows down for a while so it can air out. If none of that works I suggest stocking up on air fresheners to place in the front and back.

A small can of drip coffee (1 pound or so) with about 1/2 cup of pure vanilla extract in a closed space for a day should remove the offensive odor, as long as you don't mind the smell of fresh coffee. Don't spill it, and then cover and throw out.

Febreeze works well. Then spray the entire interior with Ozium (a small spray available at auto parts stores).

Try leaving a cup of vinegar in the vehicle overnight. Supposedly it sucks up the smell... never tried it myself but know other people who smoke in their vehicles and use it on a regular basis to get rid of the smell.

When my car got stunk up ( I loaned it our to a "friend" who promised not to smoke in it) I wiped down everything with a rags soaked in water mixed with lavender essential oil. One cup of warm water with 5-7 drops is all you need!
