my best friends bf crosse the line and kinda wrestled with her and tried to put his hand down her pants and then stopped. nothing came off and no sexual body contact was made. they broke up. if she presses charges? can she send him to jail? she wants him there.

um, that's gonna be a hard case to prosecute. being that they were dating at the time, (not saying you are allowed to just foldle your partner anytime you want) but it will be hard to prove her story, and it becomes him vs her stories. i doubt the DA would go for attempted rape.

That's a tough one. She wasn't actually sexually assaulted and it would be a her word vs. his word situation. She can always call the non-emergency line for the local police department and file a report. It's unlikely that action would be taken, but at least that way, if something worse happened down the line, there would already be evidence that he has violent tendencies (would be helpful if she needed a protection order, or if he successfully assaulted another girl and that girl wanted to press charges).
He is an ex, though. Counsel your friend against contacting the police out of revenge for a breakup.

Probably file charges for sexual assault, but will be hard to prove unfortunately. Sorry for your friend it is not right.

she could probably go after him for sexual assault. she should make a report immeidately. if she waits, they will ask her why she watied and that causes problems down the line.
