heres the questions:
The directions on a 8 fl oz can of chicken noodle soup say to add 4 cans of water.
a) How many fl oz of water should be added?
b) How many cups of water should be added?
c) How manty fl oz of soup will there be?
d) How many cups of soup is that?

I suspect that you are one of those people who panic the minute you see the combination of words and numbers. First thing is just to chill.

I could answer it for you, but you wouldn't learn a thing. Try sketching the problem out and labeling everything. Once you see the relationship between the can, a cup, and the number of ounces in each, you will see that this is really very simple.

Katie, you should really know how to do this. Brains are like muscles, if you don't use it you'll lose it. You wanna be the typical teenage alzheimer patient that I'm sure a lot of kids you know are? But I'll be nice. a) 8x4=32oz.
b) find out how many oz are in a cup and divide 32 by it.
c) 32+8= 40oz of soup
d) divide 40 the same way you did for part b)
And, I'm a 7th grade math teacher.

a) If you're filling up the can with water 4 times and the can holds 8 fl oz then you are adding 32 fl oz of water
b) I believe that there are 8 fl oz in a cup, so you are adding four cups
c) 32 fl oz of water plus 8 fl oz of soup concentrate equals a total of 40 fl oz of soup
d) If there are 8oz in a cup then 40oz equals 5 cups

a) 4 x 8 oz =
b) how many oz in a cup? divide into A)
c) 5 x 8 = ( 1 can at 8 + 4 cans of water) or 8 + A)
d) when you find b) - - - C) will give you a hint
