i personally have worked very hard to learn not to project as a psychotherapist I am trained to try not to project ,but thoughts always do come thru at times, it is my resposibility to try not to react to my own stuff as it may influence others, however i would say that most people project a lot of the time their own perceptions and beliefs onto to others, it is what makes a first impression in ones min d, their are some people though trough meditation and training of their mind (like buddist) who try to move away from all rjection and experiene the now with no percieved thought, just being in the moment, when you are washing dishes ,you are really washing the dishes you feel the water xperience the feeling of soap the grease is felt your mind is focused and there but most of us are someplace else when we do thing our minds tend to obsess on things not in the present

As much as possible. What isn't projected is left to
subjective imagination. If I desire to be understood
then I shouldn't leave the interpretation to chance.
People have a tendency to draw conclusions whether
they have sufficient information or not, so it is preferable
that they make conclusions based on sufficient information.

Our ego projects its defects onto others and its attributes onto entities (groups/governments/churches etc.) Situations result from these projections.

Not much at all.

Projection would be those traits or behaviours that any of us have that we cannot accept as our own.

I have plenty of faults. I can accept that. So there is not need to project. It is perfectionism that contributes to projection.

No matter what, we all project our mindset onto others.
It's inevitable.

I try to keep my mind set to myself, but I'm a "Saver/Helper" type, and it's hard for me to keep quiet

You can't avoid it. Your thinking colors everything you do.
