Oh, don't you worry about that. Once we get Jermain O'neal, Kobe will be a better leader. Right now, his team blows so he has to do everything. But once he gets better teammates he will be a leader again and the haters will be very surprised.

Kobe was compared to MJ when he was young. Right off the bat, people don't like that comparison and they will always have a grudge against Kobe. Also, as of now his image is too tarnished to improve. People will always say he is selfish, a ball hog, that he jacks shots, and that he is arrogant. If these past two seasons didn't prove that, I don't know what will. Last season Kobe shot too much according to the public. This year he was being too passive at times. This is the general perception. I don't view Kobe in a negative way, but many people do. Even before Shaq left and before the Colorado incident, there were a lot of Kobe haters. Once people hate a player and have a certain image of them in their minds, it is nearly impossible to change.

When Kobe was on championship teams, the team was grown around he and Shaq before and after their arrival, but only Shaq had a huge salary. West picked up the right players, who were not stars, but easily starters.
Now all those reliable starters are gone except Kobe, and he has a huge salary and bigger ego. He rarely shares the ball, but can't put on a show against top tier teams, only the dregs.
If Phil Jackson had great rookies, he still would not play them.
Kupchak has assembled a team of backups, with a few better players trying hard, and Kobe. Nothing to trade. No ball to share. No consistent shooters.
Fire Kupchak. He, or West, passed drafting Carlos Boozer, and picked Mark Madsen.
Kobe needs a pay cut to make a good team.

what is there to make better? Kobe's image is at its Prime... those who adore and praise him stand beside him.. all other relate and stand against him. Many people dont even have a just reason to hate kobe, they mainly say they hate him because of his talent, many people believe that he shoots lucky shots, my question to these people are how does this happen 20X's a day, and also why do you think he needs to regain his image? He is simply speaking the truth to the media about his feelings, he was promised chance when he signed his contract, and guess what still no CHANGE. if i were in his shoes i would have demanded a trade, and left, he is handeling this issue better than most of us could have.

well, he was slowly doing a better job until the radio incident that happened recently. old habits die hard I guess.
For me, I'd like to see Kobe make his teammates believe in themselves. Like what Lebron did for that "boobie" guy on the Cavs. You see little moments of Kobe trying to do that, but they never last. It seems that Kobe doesn't believe anyone else on the team has any game, and a lot of the Lakers fans are buying into it too.

i conform to a assertion on your question. i think of basketball is often evolving so it incredibly is ridiculous to declare jordan is the suited because of the fact kobe discovered from jordan and extra a number of his very own capacity onto it, so he's the suited for now. finally there will be somebody extra effectual than the two one in each of them ( according to possibility lebron, quickly as he gets a jumpshot). for argument's sake i could desire to make this factor. whilst jordan began to be in his best, globalization became into going on, all and sundry interior the worldwide began understanding approximately basketball via media, internet. etc. being the 1st one on the time to be stable became right into a suited subject for jordan's legend. plus whilst jordan became into enjoying it became into the huge guy's era (basically look what number large huge adult men have been enjoying then whilst in comparison with capturing guards) kobe is enjoying in a shelter's era the place tremendously much each teamhas a tremendously stable capturing shelter. those are basically some issues to contemplate in the previous asserting jordan to be the suited participant interior the worldwide. there is not any such concern because of the fact the suited ever! recover from it.

An image is something that can only improve with time and good behavior. If he can manage to keep his name out of the media for negative reasons than I think over time he will recover. Although if he keeps opening his mouth about wanting to be traded and complaining about things like that it won't help him any.

The best thing for him would just be to concentrate on playing the game. No trade demands. Just come to work every day and play hard. No going out to strip clubs or anywhere that will get him into the newspapers or on the talk shows. Don't give anyone anything to talk about except his game. That will earn him respect.

He needs to remember that basketball is a team sport, and talk to more his coaches and less to the media. If the media have "messed up his image', they've done it with his own words and actions.

Pass the ball more and win a championship or make it to a championship without any other stars (like LeBron is doing)
