Having had parents in government, I know they do.
The number of "corrupt politicians" in government is a tiny proportion compared to the actual number of people in government.
Compared to the percentage of average Americans that are corrupt/criminal, it's tiny. Politicians come out as saints.

That's why they're news. It's unusual. They don't show corrupt ex-felons. They expect that. It's not news.

Some people STILL confuse news with real life. Silly, isn't it. Drives the devoted politicians in our government up the wall, as well.

No politician can make your life better. Only YOU can make your life better. That is the beauty of a 'free society'. Of course, politicians can pass laws that muck things up, in fact, they do it regularly.

Do you tell them your ideas or just sit and complain that they don't do what you want? Let them know. Enough people with the same sort of idea you bet they will do it. They want reelection. They have staff people who are thinking, researching and reading your letters and emails. The good stuff gets to them directly.

First off a message from the grammar police: It's "lives," not "life's." Secondly, no they don't--they sit and think about how to get more votes.
