i think we should get out. we have spent to much money on this and it is noot doing anything for us. it is only helping iraq, bush, and al-qaeda, believe it or not. yes, we helped our enemy, by invading iraq, we spread them to a country that they were never in before. the war is not helping the us one bit, it's just making more and more husbands, moms, dads, and wifes, and sons cry everyday because there father or spouse died. this war is all for iraq and what the neoconservatives like cheney and wolfowitz want. they don't care about us, they just want what they want.

I would like US to stay until the Iraq friends can take
over and defend themselves without us. At that time,
we should pull back and only be backup for them. After
that, we should gradually reduce our troops by sending
them home so many at a time. This way, there will be
no disaster happen upon our leaving as there will be if
we just pull everyone up and leave, leaving our friends to
face the terrorists alone without help. The terrorists would
love to have the date of our pullout and the Democrats
apparently are ready and willing to do just that. We have
never done that to any of our allies, ever. Guess it depends
upon whose side you're on (that tells us something right
there, doesn't it?).

As a liberal I say leave them there.

Who wants a bunch of PTSD X paramilitary with no support from the VA running loose on society.

Look at the mess we had with Vietnam Vets. This will be worse. Bush cut the funding to the VA these guys are better off staying in Iraq with their buddies than in some big city Homeless Shelter.

Go Team Bush Go

I would love to see the U.S. troops come home from Iraq (and everywhere else for that matter). I've been against G.W. since he stole the 2000 election. That said, I also feel some responsibility as an American citizen for letting my government turn the Middle-East into one big war zone/terrorist training camp. I'm afraid some of our troops will have to remain in Iraq for a long, long time (like decades). I hope the numbers can be greatly reduced, and I hope their roles can be changed from combat to support and advisory. The mission changed from military to diplomatic. That's the best scenario I'm seeing.

Less and less of the Repubs want to stay. We accomplished what we went after when we got Saddam. We are now mired down in a Civil War. The Iraqi government and the Iraqi police need to step up and start doing their jobs. We need to start a steady troop reduction and stand back and let the Iraqis police themselves.

Actually, there are plenty of republicans out there who want us out of Iraq as well. Labeling it all just based on party affiliation is the first mistake there is and it's far too easy to segregate people and ideas based on those divisions once started. it would be nice if issues could actually be addressed instead of always split by the "party" line.

Democrats are lying, they won't pull out of iraq, republicans are being honest, they stay in iraq and they'll attack Iran as well. No top tier candidate will pull out of iraq. We're building a massive embassy and putting bases all over the region.

I am not able to accept that we should have invaded Iraq in the first place .
We should have negotiated instead of occupying a country that is so divided that to keep peace its dictator had to use the military to kill its own people .
Our civil rights battle had less deaths but we still used force and killed our own . Should Someone have invaded us and killed our president .

This is a difficult subject and you should remain open to the idea that wars never have a winner . Both sides suffer and in the future we should not be so quick to jump into one .

I say Nuke them into submission .

I want us out, but so does everyone. Where I differ is I want us out the right way. We need to keep a training force there to help the Iraqis train themselves.
Because as much as I would love for all of our troops to come home, I do not want to leave a problem our children have to later go back and clean up.

I want us out but I fear we cannot leave without the place really going to the pits.

Unfortunate.

I am a moderate democrat.
