We all lie, whether we intend to or not. When people said the sun revolved around the earth, they were lying, but not because they meant to. It's just that we can never know everything.
And even if one tries really hard to always tell the truth, I am sure that 99.9% of us have exaggerated a story to make it sound cooler, or told a white lie to spare somebody's feelings.
But like any quality, I don't think you have to be 100% honest to be considered an honest person. Take tallness, for example. I am 5'10", which for a girl is quite tall. Nobody would argue that I am not tall. But my sister is 6'1". Does her height somehow diminish my tallness? No, it does not.
In the same way, although perfect honesty may be impossible, you can be "relatively" honest if you make a sincere effort to tell the truth, in my opinion.

Well, we can never be 100 percent honest because we are imperfect and don't know everything...we are prone to exaggerate, forget details, get information wrong at times...
But I would say that some of us strive to be more honest than others. I never intentionally lie, but sometimes I find myself keeping things to myself for various reasons...or exaggerating...or denying things.
I think it has more to do with intention...some people see no problem with lying as long as they find a good reason for it. I personally think that lying is always wrong...but that sometimes most of us will unintentionally do it as a defense mechanism.
So if you or someone you know lies, confront them or yourself...if you (or they) can admit you messed up, I think it's understandable. But if there is a constant pattern of lying and deception and no remorse, I would say there's a problem.

They do exist but very rare. According to the Vedas Truthfulness is the last leg of religion in this age. I find that scary being very few are truthful. That means there is no real religiosity in the age of Kali (quarrel and hypocrisy) For Vedic Knowledge read Bhagavad Gita as it is on line go to asitis.com By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada- tells how to attain all good qualities, and the purpose of life.

There is always a fault, even in honesty. You wouldn't want to have someone being totally honest with you. You might not like what you hear. There is a gray area for honesty. As long as it is nothing major, what is wrong with a little white lie now and again. Look at the movie "Liar, Liar", that shows you just where total honesty could possible take you.

I don't think so, because even Ned Flanders lied once, and he NEVER lies, and lives for the story called "the bible".
