No, he's certainly very qualified with his diplomatic and executive experience, but he's made a poor showing on recent TV appearances such as Meet the Press and the first two Democratic debates. He's also way behind in fundraising and in the polls. He could make a great vice presidential candidate, imo.

no, because the media has already defined this race. The reason the media is pushing 2008 on us so early is because they saw a good show in the primaries, especially the democratic primary. hillary clinton, potentially the first woman president, was already running, so they pushed barack obama, articulate young black senator, potentially the first black president to run as well. The media focused all their attention on them, they made them their stars, and it makes a good show, it gets people fired up and it gets good ratings. clinton and obama are the stars of this show, and richardson barely even has a part. its sad, because the media inadvertantly destroyed the potential candidates who may very well have been very good but they weren't well known. they got no attention and they got no money, so they were forced to drop out, or not start at all. this is scary when you think about it, how is someone outside of the establishment and not well known supposed to get anywhere now. its really sad.

I think he isn't as well-known as Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Obama, although he has been in politics for many years and has served in important governmental positions. He doesn't have the "clout" of the top runners including Mr. Edwards. He would be a good choice because he is a many of talents and knows politics very well. Unless the hispanics and latinos rally round their own, he just doesn't have a chance. He'd be a good vice president though. He would probably do well in the democratic primaries in the southwest, so maybe there is a slight chance he'd be the contender against the GOP in the general election.

I think he's got a better chance than most people realize. Richardson is just now starting to step up his game. People are getting tired of the Hillary/Obama battle and nobody is really taking Edwards seriously. Biden (moron!) shot himself in the foot with that "clean" comment about Obama. People are slowly starting to take a real look at Richardson's credentials.

No chance in hell. He's not even on the radar screen. Even Edwards is a bit of a long shot, and he's running far, far ahead of Richardson.
It's going to be either Hillary, Obama, or Edwards.

I'm independent and can't vote in the primaries, but if he makes it past the primaries, I'll vote for him.

No, I think he would be perceived as an outsider and maverick. I like him, but not enough to vote for him!
