Is there a way for to check if someone is married. Like going to see if there is a public record? Would a divorce be on public record?

Some marriage licenses are public record, some aren't. (Mine isn't.) Divorces may or may not be public record, but you'd need to know the county in which the marriage and divorce took place to search.

Ask him. If you're not buying his denial, you should assume he's married and just on keep walking.

There is a public record or every marriage, but it would only exist in the county where the marriage was performed, so unless you want to check every county in every state, you're probably out of luck.

Marriages and divorces are usually filed with the county. I'm not sure if the county will give you the information though.

Yes, I think you can find out at the county clerks office. Or ask him if he is or not. If you still question him, is he worth your time?
