Install CPUZ:

Go to memory and SPD tabs for details of your memory modules.

First thing is to identify the manufacturer and go to their website to find the specifications on your particular PC.

If it's a custom/homebuilt machine than use something like CPUID or similar program to find out you motherboard info. Then you should have enough info such as type of memory (DDR DDR2 SDRAM etc.) and what bus speeds are supported by the motherboard, FSB, and voltages.

Good luck,

If you can't find the type of ram by using a Goggle search, (Name of computer/Ram). Go to the web site of you computers manufacturer and do a search there or chat with a Rep.

hello!

you should get that memory out of its slot and bring it to the computer shop nearby. they have to know what kind of RAM is it (SD, DDR, DDR2), so they would help you choosing the best RAM which fits into your mainboard.

and also, if you know what kind of mainboard do you have (intel, nvidia, sis etc) and you know the full name of it, you can search on the manufacturers website for your model, and you'll find out which RAM is supported by your mainboard.

but if you're not that tech geek, then bringing your RAM module to the comp. shop would help!
