I don't do anything to please anyone but me and my family. I don't worry about what my neighbors have. We do our own thing. Oh, and I have 3 kids, 1 dog and 10 goats in a woven wire fence!

Since when has anyone ever listened to society or really cared what society thinks? Societies ideal marital images have nothing to do with the high divorce rate. Think about the ideal image here and please tell me how in the hell can you have 1/2 a kid. That might be the problem right there. The saying goes you get out of something exactly what you put into it so if couples are only putting 1/2 an effort into their marriages then theyre only get 1/2 of whats its worth out.

Maybe the angry divorced people got married to please society. The rest of us did because we fell in love and wanted to spend the rest of our lives with that person. By the way, the kids, dog, and plastic fence are extra-cost options.

I think that unless you're having children, society doesn't much care anymore if you get married.

i got married so I could have an intimate relationship with my wife, 6 kids, 4 dogs, a barbed wire fence and a shot-gun, if scociety has a problem with that then Society can go F*** a porcipine.

Good point. America is the only country where we work jobs we hate, so we can buy things we dont need, to impress people we dont like.

I think people do limit their options due to pressure from families and society. Lately though I notice some people are staying single longer and choosing NOT to have children so maybe the tide is turning.

No they get a white picket fence and having that .5 child is hard to do. It seems your parents may have accomplished it though.
