How is that possible? It's not like they transport meat fresh everyday to their tens of thousand franchises, right? Enlighten me please.

In-N-Out burger here in California has been doing that since their start. Never frozen. In fact, they have no microwaves, no freezers, etc.

Nice to see Wendy's is doin the same thing now.

When I worked at Wendy's many years ago, I used to have to go in early and patty the meat. It came in probably ten to fifteen pound packages. It was kept refrigerated; I never saw it frozen. We used a machine with a big hopper on top. Put two or three packages up at once and feed down through a hole in hopper. It would make the meat into the square patties and put it on the little papers that separate each patty. Once the patties were done they were put into long deep stainless steel pans covered with plastic and put back into refrigerated walk in. The managers figured daily by using previous sales how much meat needed pattied for that day. They usually had very little left over and it was used first the next day. I remember a couple of times that they under estimated and we had to patty more meat during the day.

It doesn't have to be frozen cause it isn't beef! Who knows what it is.

I work there now and can assure tell you the meat is never frozen. It comes in three times a week. The cooked meat is still used for the signature chili.

They sure do....never frozen......

Ever wonder what they do with overcooked burgers.....In the beginning.that is why they had chili on the menu but when the chili got too popular they had to buy meat just for the chili

its possible, cuts down on the energy cost to freeze it, keep it frozen, keep it as it thawed and then cook it.
