In the UK, if a patient dies and the coroner has requested a post-mortem for them to investigate the cause of death, is there anyway the family can appeal that decision?
Is there any situation where the coroner's decision can be overruled?

Pose the question to the coroner. They are obligated to respond with your possible courses of action. If there is reasonable objection for the procedure, it is best lodged with authorities and resolved.
