I doubt it
too much misogyny and a catch 22: the woman who would be the most supported (well liked) would not be qualified...
people here still believe that a woman's role is merely one of the household...such a woman, say like Mamie Eisenhower or even a degreed woman such as Laura Bush or Lady Bird Johnson would not be qualified to run the country
the type of woman needed to become president needs to be well versed in public policy, have some legal and business background, and must be steely
this means women like Christine Todd Whitman, Hilary Rodham Clinton, Barbara Boxer, Kay Bailey Hutchison, and yes maybe even a Nancy Reagan
politics is tough and the woman has to be tough
but this country (whine all you want it is true) doesn't like tough women
even women like Kay Hutchison, Elizabeth Dole, and Sandra Day O'Connor are/were not fully loved
And don't even talk about ethnic women...
It is sad. Maybe women will raise their sons to be more understanding that women have a role in shaping the future of the country and raise better men AND WOMEN.
Let me say that no one is a worse enemy to women than other women.
I feel sorry for Mrs. Clinton. So much of the hatred for her is not who she is or what she did, but the fact that she is a woman with those issues. People hate her worse than Bill!
Now I do not support her particularly being President...not because she isn't qualified, SHE IS, but because she is so polarizing...but I don't think any qualified woman can make it.
And no, Paris Hilton can't be President. Or so I hope...

It depends of course on how long you live, but the fact that there's a serious woman candidate now, leads to the reasonable conclusion that it's likely there will be a woman elected president in the next few years.

depends on how old you are...if you're 80 or 90, probably not. If you still have a lot of years left in your lifetime, I'd say it's possible.

Yes.
There are two I would vote for: Secretary of State Dr. Condoleeza Rice and Elizabeth Dole.

Why is it so important to so many people to have a woman president? I'm not against it happening! I'm also not hell bent on it. A candidates gender is of no importance to me, just their political views; and Hillary's political views are horrible, plus she flip flops way too much!

There are and have been women presidents. Liberia is a current example. If you are referring to the US, how long do you expect to live?
