It is definitely time for change.
1) Don't use the Diebold machine. Ask for the paper ballot. They have these, but they don't advertise. Let others know to ask for the paper ballot.
2) Take Personhood away from corporations. Personhood gives them the right to lobby and to contribute to political campaigns. It gives them the right to welfare; more rights than I can name here. They are to serve us! As entities, that's what they did, as Persons, they see to it that we serve them and their shareholders. Corporations with the rights of Citizens is the most dangerous thing in our "Democracy."
Check it out! It is the BEST thing we can do to get the government back on track.
I've listed a few sites below; you can find many more on your search engine, or through these sites.
Stopping Lobbyists from creating bills and from corrupting our government is a huge step. There are four Pharmaceutical Lobbyists for every Congress Person!
Members of the Pharmaceutical Industry are IN the FDA.
This is only one example....
This is the closest we can come to a revolution right now: Take away the rights of corporations, and stop corporations from running our voting procedures. (How, how, how did we ever let that one get past us?)

LOL Oh to be young. Dear America has faced great crisis before. Why back in 1860 we fought brother against brother. We recovered and stood once more better then we had been.
In the 1930's the dust bowl and depression drove us to our knees, We got back up and dusted our selves off and rebuilt
In 1942 a sneak attack shock us into action and the World Learned what happens when we are angered
In 1963 Our Bright Young President was shot down. We mourned and grew
In 1968 Bobby and Martin were both lost but their deaths propelled us to finish the work begun in 1860.
In 1972 Our President attempted to over throw our government. But Watergate ended up being nothing but a hotel and we went on
On 9-11-2001 we were attack once again and from the smoke and rubble a giant stood again.
Dear, we stumble we fall we get up again. No way for change to occur through democracy Darling the only way for change to occur is though democracy.
What ever you think is wrong with this nation Our Freedom will always Ring

the reason our democracy has failed, is because we as a people have failed. We have become subdued and accepting of what happens, instead of fighting it. We have become numb to the injustices of our government, and instead we look away, and pretend everything is ok, when in our hearts we know what is happening is wrong. Even hard core conservatives, when they decide to stop condemning and fighting liberals, and hiding behind religion, know in their hearts that what is happening in our government today is wrong, ethically, morally, and in their cases, religiously wrong. We have stopped questioning, and those of us who do question, dont feel we have the power to change anything. When someone does rise up to have a say, they get silenced. Its not hard to look around and lay the blame on someone, some blame the president, the vice president, the corporations, liberals or conservatives...and they are partially to blame...but we are all to blame, because we have become quite and docile, and we have let it happen. Yes, it is time for an American Revolution, but one of the heart and spirit, not one of weapons, war, and hatred.

Unfortunately, no. All governments are really failures. Facism is of course only popular amongst the strong, communism and socialsim end up turning fascist eventually, anarchy becomes some kind of dictatorship, and no one wants a monarchy. Untill a new communist system theory comes out no system will last as long as democracy, even though democracy only favors around half the population. Perhaps the americans could revert to their old sytem where the runner up in the presidential election becomes vice president.

It may very well be time for a new American revolution. But there is no reason to call the American democracy a failure. As you eluded to, we just need to take ours back.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but here in CA, we marked the end of our democracy in 2005 with a 'special election' that was bought by special interests, including both political parties.

Actually, it is time for the American Revolution II. We need to get this country back to what made it great. We have been under siege by left-wing freaks since the end of WW II. We need to enforce our laws, make people responsible for their own lives, and if we are going to fight a war, win it as soon as possible with the smallest amount of AMERICAN lives lost. Enemy dead don't count.

Though most of your comments are 100% accurate, I do not think it wil take a full scale revolution. I think a 3rd party will come forth (which will take one hell of a lot of funding) if they take American values as their core basis, they will slowly take votes from both parties, because true patriotic Americans are tired of the status quo.

Yes it is indeed time to admit that American Democracy has become a failure because we have not become the country we set out to be.

Compared to what? Socialism? Communism? Theocracy? Monarchy? What? Until I see something better, I guess I'll stick with the best there is.
