We live in a country of stupid lawsuits, and this is just another one. Does anyone know if there is a campaign to send money to these poor people to help with their costs from this idiot's lawsuit? Is this guy a racist or did he just wake up on the wrong side of the bed?

It is embarrassing and shameful. He is a Judge for heaven's sake! A JUDGE. It's a freakin' pair of pants. If you find out if we can donate money, I'd love to know. And to think he came down from $67 million.

We SO need tort reform.

And I work for lawyers! Thankfully, we do defense.

I actually heard a woman say to an approximately ten year old child in a department store the following:

"Be careful. Don't trip on that stuff. . . . . . . . .and if you do, you betta act like you hurt."

The child responded, "Yeah, so we can get us some monay!"

Our country is scary in so many ways. Since when did our stupidity become someone else's fault? Or a pair of pants worth $67 million dollars? Seriously?

This type of lawsuit brings the entire legal community into disrespect, and that's really too bad because it is not reflective of the great majority of practitioners out there but does give the lawyer-bashers another target. Sometimes people in high positions (judges, doctors, etc.) become taken by their own sense of self-importance and arrogance and it leads to cases like this. Usually, these kinds of cases are rapidly dismissed but on occasion they survive, and that's a pity. In my opinion, the amount being sued for is irrelevant - it could have been $54 or $54,000,000. The fact that the case was brought in the first place is what's truly repugnant.

It's not worth $54 million to get into anybody's pants. Not even Paris Hilton's! -RKO- 06/06/07

And to think he was a judge. I mean they offered him 10 thousand dollars to replace his pants and he still turned them down. What a moron.

That comes to show you that there are people like that, who are willing to sue anyone for any accident or malpratice.
