I agree with you when you say they need a veteran to help out Quinn. I do not think Culpepper is Cleveland's answer though. They would have to pay to much money to put him on the roster, and you don't even know if he will be a starting caliber quarterback. Culpepper also has a much different playing style than Quinn does. Charlie Frye is still young and has shown some potential. We have all seen a lot of quarterbacks go down in the past few seasons, so teams need two or three good backs on the team. The Browns should have tried to trade for Trent Green. I think he would have fit better in that offense and I do not think Culpepper will fit in at all. Culpepper is beat up, so they should pass on him and keep the guy that will be playing for seasons to come, Charlie Frye.

Heck no! Yes, Dante has better "physical tools", and more experience, but bringing him in would be pointless. For one thing Dante has been garbage since he didn't have randy moss to throw to anymore. He has a track record of poor decisions. Beyond that Quinn is our QB of the future and Culpepper will not be happy stepping in to mentor a rookie. If we were to get someone to mentor him it would have been Trent Green anyways. Frye has been part of the team for a while now and is familiar with the coaches... so if Quinn isn't ready to step into the starting role this year, Frye is just find to hold down the fort for a year.

What do you think the Browns can really get for Charlie Frye?? Not much, and Culpepper really would have no place on the team. That would be a ridiculous salary they would be paying for a guy to hold a clipboard. Culpepper and Quinn's style of play aren't exactly compatible, so I'm not sure how much Quinn would learn from him that he couldn't learn from experience and his coaches.

no. im not saying getting daunte culpepper is a really bad idea, but he will expect to compete for the starting job and his knee still isn't healed yet. if the browns do get rid of a quarterback, it shouldn't be charlie frye, it should be derek anderson. i think that charlie frye can be a decent backup. he has much better mobility than derek anderson. culpepper is too expensive also. and what about brady quinn? i think the browns should get a veteren backup though, to be brady quinn's mentor. but not culpepper

I say Yes, because Charlie Frye sucks - especially when compared to a healthy Daunte Culpepper.

Hell no ! # 1 I am a Browns and Vikings fan and I think Dante was a OK QB but Randy Moss , Robert Smith, Chris Carter were more than enough weapons to make him good. Without one of those weapons he fell hard. Also Dante has a ego that is negative to a team and will try to demand a hefty price. Cleveland will not get much for Frye and with the 1st round payroll of Quinn he will have to start before the end of the season especially in a very tuff division with the ( cough, cough ) Bengals, Steelers, and Ravens. Gooooo Browns !

brady quinn is the future franchise qb for cleveland and culpepper just isnt worth the trouble
it would be a crime for brady to not be starting by the end of the season
go ahead and get rid of frye if you want just dont bother with getting culpepper

It depends on how his knee is. If he gets cut by the Dolphins you can get Culpepper and keep Frye as a backup.

absoulely yes. dauntehas prooven his skill when hes healthy. charlie frye has never acumulated more than 2,000 yards in a season. trade for daunte and a possible 3rd or 4th round pick and it would be pretty even. the dolphins have recently acquired trent green though so charlie frye could back up in miami. daunte could start for a year and then give it up to brady quinn
