It feels like that a lot. Do you think it's possible that you might be suffering from depression? Feeling isolated and unable to communicate with others is a symptom that a lot of people experience. Take time to enjoy your own company if you feel lonely. If you value yourself, you'll never be alone. Listen to music you like, get some exercise to get your endorphins pumping and spend time with anyone you can that makes you feel good.

.....To me, this feeling is always with me. I always feel like a "stranger in a strange land," where strange is normal and normal seems strange.

To me, it's a part of the human condition not to be able to relate to most people, because I'm pretty far outside the box most of the time, and I know most people want to be inside the box. I just accept that most people are working hard to meet their own needs, not mine...and they fool themselves about an awful lot of things.

The solution is what I call "best friends." Meaningful relationships with people who have a lot in common with me and I can trust and share a lot with. I never feel lonely when I'm with people I care about.

People tend to get fired up over everyday issues because it distracts them from looking inside themselves for the really important things. Just ignore negativity, it can't hurt you if you let it roll off, but it can be contagious if you aren't careful.

Please let me tell you something real: your "twilight zone" feeling is normal BUT, don´t tell it to a psycho-doctor(-ess), because you´ll be dianosed as paranoid, it happened to me. Next, would be something worse. Just hold on! Life is good, ´though the way it might look to us right now.

Have you recently had something happen to you like a betrayal or something similar? Something to make you question yourself and others? Please find a trusting, empathetic person to discuss your conflicting feelings with.

If these feelings linger more than a few weeks, I would see a professional.
