Well I mean will a 2.0 run faster, accelerate faster or what or only the size of the engine changes? What affect does the size of the engine has on the car? Explain please

2.0 is not necessarily faster or better than a 1.8. These numbers only refer to the size of the engine and nothing else. The technology of the engine is what really matters. Look at a Saturn Ion with a 2.0 liter engine makes 140hp. A Honda Civic with a 2.0 liter engine make 197bhp. The tech affects everything including mileage. You need to look at the specs of both in the car you are looking at.

Engine Displacement, Liter in this case, is a measure of volume. Specifically the volume of air compressed by the motors pistons in one revolution. It can be a rough estimate of performance. While you wouldn’t expect a 2.5 liter to accelerate faster than a 5.0 liter for example, you would expect the 2.5 to get better fuel mileage. Nevertheless, there are many other factors that affect car performance; while horsepower and torque are better measures of engine output, Vehicle weight, transmission gear ratios, fuel delivery, aerodynamics all impact performance. You can get a good idea comparing spec sheets but in the end there is a reason for the test drives and track evaluations.

There are a heck of a lot of factors to be considered on power/ speed.
Having a larger engine doesn't mean that you are going to accelerate faster.
One has to consider the totoal weight of the car, air and fuel intake system, ignition, compression ratio, manual or automatic transmission, computer strategy, exhaust system.
Take for instance a 426 hemi engine verses a 440 wedge head engine in a 1967 Dodge Coronet, you may think at first that the 440 engine would win in a drag race. However, it would not win because of the internal design of the hemi (426). That engine creates far more power and torque because of it's intake, head, exhaust designs.

All things being equal... The engine with the larger displacement will accelerate more quickly. .2 liters is not much of a difference. There are many other factors and design differences, weight differences, etc... that could make an engine with smaller displacement more powerful than a larger one though. If they're in different cars... weight, engine design, transmission, aerodynamics, etc...will have much more effect on how the two cars accelerate than the .2 liters of displacement.

Torque, horsepower, weight and 0-60 time specs will tell you much more about how fast a car is than engine displacement can.

It depends on the weight of the car. If the 1.8 is in a smaller lighter car, it may be faster. A 2.0 is a little bigger (about 200cc) bore, therefore giving a bit more power. I run a 2.0 supercharged Ecotec in my dune buggy and it eats up V8's (5.7) in the sand drags (less than 1/4 mile), but gets killed top speed.

It depends on the car, the transmission, carburetion, turbo or non turbo charger, super charger or non super charger. Weight of the vehicle and horsepower.

All things being equal, the 0.2 liter means a few more horsepower. So the 0 to 60 time might be slightly faster. It is not a significant difference.

It depends on the design. Either one could be more powerful. Ford for instance had the 1.9 litre (88hp) in the Escort, but the smaller 1.8 (127 hp) in the Escort GT.

that size engine, the trans makes a bigger difference is it auto or manual? also the weight makes a huge difference, power to weight ratio is very important with small engines.

depends on the car and on the engine. need more specifics, but generally, there is no replacement for displacement
