The rain can be, in fact, both refreshing and depressing....

I think it all depends on the mood of the person watching the rain....

If i'm feeling melancholy, somewhat introspective... then the rain can cast a depressing pall over my mood....

If I'm feeling happy, content...aroused... then the rain is exceptionally refreshing....

Refreshing! All the plants and grass need the watering. It makes the indoor activities of the day that much more interesting, knowing the kids are going to be inside. We had a picnic on the living room floor, did lots of art projects, watched movies. It was fun being together, playing inside together. I'm a glass if half full kind of person, by the way. Takes more than rain to get me depressed!

Oh, for me the rain is like rebirth
I go outside and let in drop it's little drops all over me.
The air smells so fresh and new
I love that my backyard is uneven and forms very large puddles to jump in. My kids and I go out and jump around.
They get fully muddy and have an excellent time. Then they leave their wet stuff outside and come in and have a hot bath.
After the rain, in my town the hills get full of new growth. I love the different shades of green on the mountainside.
The rain brings flowers with it also. Not immediately, but soon after
I love the rain :)
I don't know how, but I forgot about the sound. It's like the pitter patter of little feet, all running around at the same time. Or like popcorn popping. Beautiful

Refreshing. It can take a miserable, hot, dry Texas day and turn it into a bearable day again. At least for the 10 minutes it's actually raining. After that, it's just steamy and kills your sinus!

To me the rain is refreshing. I wont get religious but God gives us good days and bad ones as well; so in comparrison He gives us the rainy days inorder for out sunny days to be that much more special. Without the rain we cant enjoy how much we really enjoy the sun. Life to me is a direct reflection to His bigger picture and once we lose focus of his hidden agenda we lose focus of LIFE in general. Never think anything He does or send is meant to depress us that's never His purpose. Sorry to weave in religion buts that how I look at it; ya dig?

I have always loved the rain. I used to live in Washington State about 3 hours from Seattle. The rain makes me think of "home"....Seattle, Portland, and Yakima in the spring. We don't get much rain in San Diego but when we do I absolutely love it! It makes me want to get a Starbucks and romp through the water puddles....and I drive a Camry not a Jeep! Oh well!

Completely depressing. I don't know why but it just puts me in a gloomy and rather bored mood. I wish I thought it was refreshing. Only for the plants it is.

A nice shower is refreshing, but lately we've had huge downpours, which is depressing. It has a tendency to postpone baseball games! Although it is bringing the depth of our lake up alot...
