We have become a society of materialistic, self-centered drones who only care about downloading music and sipping Double Mocha Lattes.
Hardly anyone cares about what goes on in government anymore. Don't you realize that. American Idol draws in more votes weekly than any presidential election the the last 25 years.
Government is an archaic model that Americans just don't understand or have the patience for, most of them couldn't even tell you who their senators are.
So yes, be ashamed of your senators if you want, but be more ashamed of your neighbors who allow it to happen.

On the immigration bill, the Senate has gone off the reservation. I have written to my Senators and Representatives, telling them what I think of the non-amnesty idea. What pains me greatly: Arlen Specter is one of my Senators.

Democrats may GLOAT at this immigration stupidity and this recycled garbage. How and Why would anybody pay a $5000 fine (money going to Mexico anyway bit by bit) to become "legal". These are not law-abiding Philipinos who have over-stayed their visas.
They have little respect for ANYONE who thinks they would pay money for what they get for NOTHING but sneaking over here.
