which politician is which when enacting a smear campaign?

NEW YORK - Fox News Channel issued a second on-air apology Wednesday for mistakenly running tape of a different congressman while reporting on the indictment of Rep. William J. Jefferson on bribery charges.

Chairman John Conyers of Michigan, whose picture aired while Fox anchors talked Monday about Jefferson's indictment, had been unhappy with Fox's apology Tuesday. Both congressmen are black.

Conyers was reportedly upset that Fox's first apology was nonspecific and didn't mention he was the victim.

On Wednesday, Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum explained to viewers that a production assistant picked up a tape that had been identified as a meeting about Jefferson. The picture showed Conyers.

"We regret this mistake," MacCallum said. "We in no way meant to suggest that there was any connection between the Jefferson indictment and Congressman Conyers. We have extended our apology privately to the congressman and we do so here as well."

A Conyers spokeswoman had no comment about the second apology.

Fox is just like the * administration. It blames its deliberate lies on the mistakes of underlings.

Tell you what: I will make you a deal.

We will apologize for Fox News if you apologize and clean up ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, New York Times, PBS, NPR, Air America, The L.A. Times, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle. . .

Let us get ALL the news channels back to the way it should be. Fair, Balanced, and Unafraid.

About a thousand false media outlets to one Fox News Channel. I would say the odds in this fight are even.

That's like pitting one conservative against 30 liberals, but I would still be worried the odds are not even enough. The conservative would whip all those liberal butts too quickly.

I think the important question here is; why is Jefferson still in the House? Republicans who are under suspicion usually give up their positions in Congress pending the outcomes of their investigations. Dumbocrats, however, usually lie, deny and even when finally convicted, have to be dragged out kicking and screaming. I also remember that Fox did extensive coverage about Cunningham and the freaking pedophile from Florida, both Republicans. How much is Jefferson getting on MSNBC or CNN?

Since when is telling the truth a "smear campaign"? Find 1 thing reported about Jefferson that is not 100% accurate. All outlets make such mistakes, the difference is that Fox apologised, the liberal media don't. Lib means never having to say you're sorry.

How approximately being stimulated to bare how the could-be ideas-washers of the superb and the left are packed with ****? that includes Fox and MSNBC for example.

Sorry, can't apologize for the truth. I've call the NYTimes and emailed them to find out why the bombing of the JFK fuel pipeline plan that was foiled was on page 37 instead of on the front page like every other newspaper in the country and haven't gotten an answer yet. Think I'll get one? I don't.

I am a Conservative Republican, and I have no personal stake in Fox News. Why the hell would I have to apologize for a news network?

they are both black and politicians! so what is the difference? you are a ranting liberal looking to instill your beliefs unto others, get a life- all politicians are crooks- but only some get caught- libs like you are so brainwashed that you should be institutionalized! have you ever heard of working hard to put food on the table, or should it just be handed out to lazy people by those who actually have because they worked for it?

Fox apologized, why should Cons and repubs? I don't get the connection! That's like saying why do you white people apologize for slavery, when me (white) didn't enslave anyone!

I take it then that you will be apologizing for some of CNN's mistakes, or haven't you noticed? I apologize for no one other than myself and your demands for such are pathetic. Fox News is far more fair and balanced than you are. - But you already know that.
