LOL... the guys above are idiots!!! lol

lol... If I remember right, it takes 5mA to stop your heart. That's 0.005 Amps.
Voltage desn't matter, you can be shocked by a van-de-graff generator @ 500,000 volts and it stings pretty good...
It depends how the electricity travled through you that really matters. (That's why electricians typically work with one hand in their pocket.)
If you were touching ground (electrical ground) with the free hand, you'd be gone.

You can figure out how much with these 2 formula's
E
-----
I(x)R

and
P
----
I(x)e

E=Voltage, I=Amperage (current), P=Power (watts), and R=Resistance (ohms).

I also lived through sticking scissors into a socket as a child and recently zapped myself off a counter top installing an outlet. (I mis-labelled the breaker and didn't test it first) It was a bit shocking!! (to find out that I'm that stupid)

Anyways, I don't know your answer, but I think it also matters how long you are in contact with the current..did the breaker flip or fuse blow and save you? Did you fall down and break contact with the socket?

Age and general health probably plays a part as well.

The holes in electric powered sockets are designed to be too small to place a finger in and the stay contacts are spaced some until now. The exception to it is the bayonet cap mild socket, have been the two terminals are uncovered. those are risky and could have been outlawed years in the past.

It is about as dangerous as drinking too much coffee. I usually use a fork if I am having trouble waking up in the morning, stuff that little guy in the nearest outlet and BANG! Who needs Red Bull?

Don't be an idiot!

Stay away from the sockets in the house and go outside and play.

not at all i recommend it. No really if you only stick something in one of the holes then nothing, stick you whole in it for real just one hole, adn you will be fine. You can win money from your dumb friends. Sounds like you wont have a problem finding any of those.
