Very badly. I was married to a man who saw things as "every silver lining has a dark cloud". I'm a very "up" person, and I didn't realize until I made my escape just how much that constant negativity impacts you. More than you realize.

I don't know if you have heard about the Dawson College shooting in Montreal last October. My bf knew the killer. He was a good guy, but he started hanging out with a guy that had serious mental issues. It was that guy's idea to do a shooting in a school. He rubbed off enough so that my bf's "friend" did the shooting for him because he couldn't do it himself. He was in a mental institute. Still there actually.

So, to answer your question, tons of negativity can rub off.

Pretty good question. I do believe that can happen especially if it's constant. I prefer hanging around people that try to make you smile even when things are at the worst. Negativity is like a poison in the air. It eventually polutes people.

Excellent question! From experience I can say quite alot. You are a reflection of those closest to you. Negativity only breeds more negativity. Surrounding yourself with positive people will make you happier and more positive too :)

It will happen. A pessimist will ruin everyone's day.

I don't know, but I'm so sad.
My boyfriend dumped me.
And I'm not the captain of the cheerleading squad any more.
I feel like I'm a let down to my friends.
What should I DO?
