Actually, it's a myth that Darwin had this "deathbed conversion". The myth was spread by a religious relative of his, who never even was near Darwin's deathbed.

Whether Darwin was right, wrong, or somewhere in between, the idea that he "admitted that evolution was all a myth ...?
and one of his last words is 'Jesus'?" is completely bogus. A complete fiction invented...surprise!....by a PREACHER!!!
"A widespread rumor circulated -- facilitated by an evangelist by the name of Lady Hope who preached in Downe during the last years of Darwins life -- that on his deathbed Darwin renounced evolution and declared himself a Christian. This story, totally contradictory to the nature of the man himself, is a falsehood, denied by his daughter Henrietta and those who knew him best and who were actually at his bedside during his last weeks. Darwin's last words, spoken to his wife Emma, were in actuality, "I am not in the least afraid to die.""

Did you know that even Answers in Genesis has admitted that story is a lie made up to discredit Darwin?
Did you know that people who accept the theory of evolution don't think Darwin was a god? He had a good idea, that's all.
Did you know that if you have to repeat a well-known lie in order to garner any support for you side of an argument, you've pretty much lost?
bye now

Did you know that when Jesus died he admitted that religion was all a myth? See how easy it is to make up stories with no basis in fact.

Did you know that people can be so in denial that they would rather believe in fairy tales that make them feel better than do some actual thinking and research?
The existence and persistence of this tale illustrates that so called godly persons can perpetrate a lie and put words into a dead man's mouth. How ethical. How truthful. How moral. How Christian.

That's about as believable as Creationists who think God passed gas and created the winds.
I think just about anyone on their deathbed would call out to a religious figure.
But I don't know if I believe if Darwin did that. That sounds speculatory to me.

If it makes you feel better to believe that then go ahead. The only person you're hurting is yourself. But deep in your heart you know that it isn't true. Kid yourself all you want, but evolution is fact.

That is a notorius fraud, completely untrue, and in any event totally irrelevant. Evolution has been established science for a century because it works, and is now a proven fact as well. (Proof details available on request; please provide an e-mail address.)

Did you also know that his family -- particularly his wife - were very religious? So he did struggle with his religious upbringing but the recanting of the theory has been dismissed.
