I don't necessarily hate it, but I do have strong negative feelings about it. For a couple of reasons, one being that you have physical tests that basically tell where you should be compared to everyone else in the nation. With everyone's body being different, it sure makes you feel like crap when you don't measure up. Another being, some of the activities are geared toward one group who can perform well at it, such as a certain sport for example playing basketball and they don't offer a variety.
Now on the other hand, academics are the same way. They test students and compare the with the nation. So if I were to say I hate PE classes, then I should say that I hate classes in general since they are based off of the same idea.
I guess in the end, I would say that I like the concept of PE class but for me, I didn't excel in it.

I am 100% behind you on this claim! The only reason the school enforce it upon students is because of this new healthy kids scheme by the government where kids must be able to do 2 hours exercise per week. However as you said this 2 hours of exercise for kids is useless unless kids perform additional exercise and/or activity outside of pe lessons, in addition to a well balanced diet. Another thing is in my pe lessons the teachers don't even teach us the how to play the sports, neither do they set up any drill s or skill based activities. Instead they just leave us to go off and play a game for the entire lesson whilst they go off for a chat and a cup of coffee, which soon gets tedious. Furthermore in the last 2 years of core pe the only sport i have done is football. Now don't get me wrong i'm a massive football fan and spend hours outside of school playing football. But the truth i s that even i find this boring. Also during team games the people, who lets say are not as good at sport compared to others just get left out and rarely receive the ball, giving them minimum opportunity or motivation to improve or even take part. In conclusion i believe pe is not a valuable part of the curriculum as very little physical benefits are achieved unless additional exercise is performed outside of school. Also their are no qualifications/ gcse's that can be achieved for it which makes it an even bigger waste of time. And at teh end of teh day people who like sport play outside of school and can even pick Pe at gcse and a level!!

I loved it. All that team play, hitting ankles with hockey sticks, bouncing the ball off someones head in netball, playing Tarzan on the climbing ropes and going on cross-country runs....in the opposite direction. Ah, the good old days!

Its actually HEALTHY, you aren't sitting on your butt learning math. its funny, schools are trying to be healthier but aren't allowing much recess or more physical ed time.
