Here's the deal...... im not a druggie or anything but my friend is curious to try it and im wondering what it feels like and if anything bad has ever happened to someone who tried it. Please if you have something rude to say don't say it. I don't want to hear it. I don't want my friend to try it but they are curious so im trying to find out some things about it and have had a hard time finding any useful information.

opium is the ancestor of heroin, which you could look up health affects for.
Also, China fought a war with Great Britain to make them stop selling the locals opium because it was ruining the country(in the governments eyes, I have no idea if it really did)
edgar allen poe supposedly died from it. he definitely was an addict tho.
even though I havent tried it I would at least recommend sticking to weed until they find out more. (although its illegal its far less dangerous than any other illegal drug and many legal perscription drugs)
If however they are looking for an alternative to weed tell them to try Salvia Divinorum. It is a LEGAL herb that people say is like LSD(but i dont think so) and you can buy it right online. Just dont try too much on your first time it can scare the $*** out of you.

I understand the desire to experiment and, if you're anything like me, once you get something in your head, nothing will stop you. To answer your question, no, I have never tried it. But a good friend of mine in college did and he died of an overdose. He was not a small guy and (although not a junkie) did his fair share of hard drugs. So I'm guessing it is (or can be) pretty powerful. I know that it not among the "usual suspects" of lethal drugs, but, if you choose to try it, tread lightly and be very careful!!! Any other questions, please post additional details.

Apparently someone has or they wouldn't be selling it.
My experience with it was that it was a lot like bad weed except I didn't get hungry. I got extremely tired and wanted to go to sleep.
As far as I am concerned, it wasn't one that was worth risking building an addiction to.

Convince her NOT to try it. In the long run it will be good if she doesn't. All you need to know is that it can kill.

I had a friend who tried it...and got very sick and ended up in a thailand hospital......almost died from organ failure
