Yes.
The Mayan calendar ends in 2012. There is no accompanying prophecy of an end to the world. From what I understand, the calendar just restarts again.

This world will never end in your life time. However, it could mean the end of our way of life. And then comes a new beginning. The future is an opportunity not a disaster. It is up to all of us to make our future bright and full of positive energy.
There are many prophecies out there that will scare you. But these are all made up by Humans. I'm not afraid of living in the year 2012. I hope it is a very good year to end all of the violence in the World.
Life will go on with or without us. Creation never stops. Especially from human ignorance and destruction.
A civilization usually lasts from 7,000 to 10,000 years. When the technology gets high enough, a civilization reaches it's peak. A decision must be made. Will we as Humans on Earth use this technology for Good? Or will we use this technology for war? Look at our History.
We are a war-like race. So more than likely we will destroy ourselves eventually. The good news is that there are Humans developing today that are much higher in spiritual vibration. These will be our new leaders in the next Age.
2012 is a marker of our development as a civilization. It is up to all of us to determine the outcome.

Yes there are many theroies that the end of the world will be Dec. 21 2012. The Myan calander stops on this date. Also there is a theory that computers will not be able to function after that date. Also there is an ancient Chinese belief matching this date as being the end of the world. Its not that far away if its correct.

I've heard about this one, but I don't believe in it one bit. We're gonna go on living our lives, worrying about when the world ends isn't going to help us at all. Just because the Mayan calender ends in 2012 doesn't mean thats when the world's gonna end. It just means thats when their calender ends! I could go make a calender right now that ends in 17 days because I'm too lazy to finish it. Does that mean the world ends in 17 days? Of course not.

The Mayans predicted the end of an era that being on the winter solstice in December of 2012. They didn't necessarily predict the end of the world, maybe just the start of a new era in human development, or human transformation

Yes, it is when the mayan calendar ends.
Look in the past. The end of the world has been predicted over and over and those predictions have always turned out wrong. Even Nostradamus, the most famous of guessers, turned out to be wrong.

If you're talking about Harold Camping, He made a similar prediction for 1994! I used to listen to him years ago, but since becoming a Unitarian, I no longer have much use for Him!
