Actually he's one of the people that frequently posts silly scenarios to get a rise out of people..my guess people don't read everything he writes before answering because they think what he is saying is a bunch of bologna....

There are two ways of answering this. This I guess is one of those questions that say, "Ah Ha you dumb Christians, I have logic that you can't possible squirm out of." You waskly wabbits, I've got you now. First the literalistic people could say that while it is not written God then allowed the animals to propagate and with God's design, they traveled all over the earth, so HA! However, the reality is my friend that we have to realize the flood story is just a story. I write this many times a week regarding the Noah. There is a flood narrative that predates the Biblical account from Mesopotamia called the Gilgamish epic. You can look it up on line. All cultures around the world have flood stories that explain cataclysmic things like huge floods that kill most of a population. They also have stories that fit into volcanoes and and earthquakes. These stories were written around the time of the exile during and after. The exile was in Babylon, or the area of Mesopotamia. The Jews brought back those stories and made them better to make our God more powerful than their gods. The point was that while in exile they asked each other over coffee and rolls what the heck happened. "We are God chosen poeple, how did we lose our city and have the temple destroyed?" Others answered, "Well we had it made there for awhile and then we fell away from God so God punished us." After they thought that over and agrued about it many said, "This is great if you think of it. We sinned, we are being punished and then God will restore us." "Yaaaaa," the shouted, "lets write this history down so others will not make the same mistake." So they had to have the flood and then the covenant. The covenant is called the Noahide Laws. There are seven of them in Gen 9. They had to have a covenant so as the story would unfold the covenant would be broken so that they would be punished. I would like to know what you think of all this and if you have other questions. You can email me if you wish.

I agree with you 100% and have often wondered the same thing. I usually try to go into some detail when I post a question, but all I get are answers to a question I did not even ask, or a smart a s s comment on something that is completely irrelevant and not even a part of my question. If people are going to give advice or whatever they should take the time to read whats at hand, if the questions is 'too long' to read...skip it, people only want answers pertaining to the question at hand, at least thats my opinion.

I think people just don't want to read through the lengthy questions.. What you said about kids at school - yep.. The people here on Yahoo Answers that do that are those kids that failed in school because they just didn't want to read the whole thing!!!!
If people really were here to answer and help, they'd read through the entire question.. Some people really do have good questions and try to explain everything well, and then you get those jerks that just say a few words to them and think that's going to help them.. Or those people that say "so what's the point?" or "what's the question?" If you had bothered to read through the whole thing, then you'd know what the question was!!!!!!!

One reason is long posts (like yours)...many won't bother to read something that long so go by what they glean from the subject line.
I've been known to do that too but typically when I do, I let the asker know I found their post to be too wordy and that I'm replying just to their subject (it's rare, but I've done it).
I've noticed as well that people will reply to questions and it's obvious they didn't read and/or comprehend the question because their answers are way off base...too many post for points or just boredom here, and not with any real desire to try to share anything of value with the askers.

I appreciate the rant.
I do read the questions. The problem is in this situation that if the man is not completely divorced, then it can still be considered cheating. If he waited 3 years without having a girlfriend, it wouldn't have killed him to wait a bit longer until the divorce was final.

I read the same question. His wording was pretty bad, and it took me a second read to completely understand what he was saying. I was more concerned with the fact that he was oblivious to the point that his sitter left his kid alone for 3 hours!
To answer your question...I think it is mostly laziness. But some people do tend to ramble on...

Wow...sounds like you are truly pissed...feel better now???People skim the questions and whatever leaps out at them they answer instead of getting an understanding of what the writer is asking...My pet peeve is I hate it when you ask a question and some of the responses don't have anything to do with whats being asked....

I agree that many people, especially in long questions, just go ahead and answer the question after about 1 or 2 paragraphs. I am not one of those people. And for those of you that do, read the question!!! It's not a bad thing to do, if you want to just answer questions for the sake of your Yahoo! Answers rating then go ahead, but just read the question, PLEASE!!!

People like to run their mouths without comprehending. I truly agree. People think that the more vulgar they are the more respect they'll gain from it. But that's them and this is you. Be happy you're not like that. However, be sure to try to understand and respect the opinions of others.
