I would like to glue a large photo behind a pane of an old window. What type of glue could I use that would dry invisible? ...and not damage the picture?

I would decoupage it onto the glass but then it is there permanently.

For an even, invisible adhesion, I would use a spray glue. You should reconsider using the original photo. A copy would allow you to preserve the original. Check out this site to see if they offer any other ideas.

NOT elmer's. If I were you, I'd consult a framer or a craft store to get the best result. You wouldn't want anything too brittle when it dries, or the picture will wrinkle and distort. Just a plain old glue stick may be your best best.

too true elmer's goes tacky and white when exposed to humidity
Aleene"s Jewel It glue dries absolutely clear and is water proof
Mod Podge
BUT always use a copy of an irreplaceable photo in crafts.
