I've been reading a lot of negative reviews about the Westgate Lakes Resort near Universal Studios down in Orlando.

It's ranked #162 out of 289 hotels in the area over at TripAdvisor ( http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g34515-d268861-Reviews-Westgate_Lakes_Resort_Spa-Orlando_Florida.html ) and has gotten 4 bad reviews posted recently over at Resideo ( http://www.resideo.com/us/florida/orlando/81982959.hotel?w=1 ).

Anywho, was just wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience, especially in regards to the timeshare sales people.

Oh yes, I will not be going back there. Two bad experiences was more than enough.

First time I was there and the whole stay was a nightmare, all the way around. Problems after problems. But, I didn't do the timeshare thing.

The second time was just as bad. The timeshare thing is completely annoying and takes forever, they are quite pushy as well. I know a lot of the people I spoke to at the resort said the people that did the presentation for them was rude, mine was not.

When I booked the stay, I specifically requested one of the rooms in the newer section. The first time I stayed there was before they had the new ones buitl, I knew they weren't in the best shape then, so I wanted one of the new ones this time. They said it would be no problem. When I arrived and checked in they had put me in one of the old rooms, way in the back. So, I went back up to the front desk and explained everything to them. With a little bit of a struggle, I was finally able to get them to move me.

The old villa was not clean, was really and in desperate need of some good maintenance or needed to be taken down. I went in the cupboard to get a glass and it was filled with bugs. That was when I said I wasn't staying in the room and they moved me to one of the newer rooms.

When I got to the newer room it was in pretty good shape and seemed to be kept up pretty well.

Now, keep in mind that even the section I stayed in would now be older than the old section was when I was last there. They keep the outside looking pretty good and have some nice things to do, but overall I would never go back.

The only other timeshare I decided to suffer through was Calypso Cay. It was pretty nice, aside from your typical timeshare problems. I would probably stay there again, but not do the timeshare.

I hope this helps!

hey, i'm from Wi too and we pass right down to Disney a minimum of thrice a year. i do no longer pass to known simply by fact it incredibly is no longer something i'm interested in. I went some years in the past simply by fact I had a loose fee ticket and that i won't be able to be returned. It replaced into grimy and loud and the visitors and workers have been rude and obnoxious. regrettably known seems to charm to a distinctive crowd than Disney and it incredibly is no longer the team i prefer to be around. in case you like curler coasters and being taken care of like crap, head on over, you would be able to truly take exhilaration in your self, yet i visit stay with Disney! What approximately Sea worldwide? they have extra some new rides and their shows are tremendously cool.

why bother with a time share when you can rent a vacation rental that is nicer, cheaper, and NO hassels. There are lots out there
