Stephen King has been my favorite author since I was in fourth grade (yes, seriously), and I first read "It." I read "1408" in his short story collection "Everything's Eventual," instead of listening to the audio book ("Blood and Smoke"), which I think actually was released first.

I plan to see the movie, too, even though the films made based on his stories never do the stories justice, in my opinion. They usually have to leave out so many details due to time restraints, but the stories lose something in that page to screen translation.

My favorite short story by Stephen King is "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption," which is one movie I think actually worked and didn't stray too much from the original.

I've read his whole collection. My fave shorts are The Running Man (they totally butchered the movie) and The Long Walk which would probably be boring in movie form.
It would be nice if they remade Running Man and stayed as close to the original as possible.

I've read it. My favorites are the ones in the different seasons collection. Stand By Me, The Shawshank Redemption and Apt Pupil were all made from those stories. I also liked "You Know, They've Got a Hell of a Band."
