my name is Demetrie Oatis and I'm from new orleans and also a saints fan. Right now I'm living in alexandria, virginia until i move back to new orleans. Anyway what i want to talk about is so-called team fans of a football team, you know so-called fans that jump the bandwagon of a football team that won or gone to a superbowl like or have success like the Colts, Patriots, Broncos, Redskins, Eagles, Chargers, including the team that i hate most which is the so-so-called "Americas Team" the Cowboys which so-called fans of this team love to always jump the bandwagon on. Sometimes when my buddies and and i talk about football including our football teams they seem to mostly joke about my team which is the Saints about not winning a SuperBowl which i say is rediculous because all they know and brag about is their team or should i say so-called their team winning a superbowl this and superbowl that. And that gets me thinkin' are they really loyal fans of their teams or they jumpin the wagon.

I'm with ya man. I've been a Denver Broncos fan since I was 5 years old and that was in 1989. Alot of people didn't start liking the Broncos until they won their first Super Bowl back in 1998. I was a fan when the Broncos had a hard time even getting to the playoffs. THANK GOD FOR MIKE SHANAHAN! Even though I wasn't alive or was too young to know who the Broncos were when they went to those 3 Super Bowls and got smashed, I would've been a fan then too. The Broncos are a good team and even though it's been 10 years since we went to the Super Bowl, I still represent my boys. Unlike all of these bandwagon Patriots and Chargers fans, who couldn't stand the team before they started winning.

I remember when you couldn't even give away tickets to a Chargers home game! And now all of a sudden, you have all of these people who say they've been "lifelong" fans. BS!! Before the year 2000, you had to look hard and long before you could find a Patriots fan, and now those SOB's are like cockroaches, THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!!

I live in Texas and it is Cowboys country here, and I get ridiculed all the time for being a Broncos fan, but I don't mind, it makes me all the more proud to know that I stand out and that the Broncos are a much better team than the Cowboys. The Broncos could go 0-16, and while it would be hard and painful, I wouldn't represent any other team BUT the Broncos!!

I STAY TRUE TO THE ORANGE AND BLUE!!!

GO BRONCOS!!

I don't really have a team but I do know what you mean about the bandwagon thing. People have a lot of stories about total bandwagon fans but I figure I'll mix it up a little and share one about extreme loyalty to your team. My friend is a Minnesota Vikings fan... DIE HARD! He's got everything from the complete purple sweat-suit to the Vikings garbage can. This man lives and breathes the Minnesota Vikings to the point where he wont even play as another team in 6 years of us playing Madden together. In 2004 when the Vikings actually made it to the playoffs and beat the Packers in the wild card (which sucked because I am a Favre fan and he rubbed it in my face all week long) but then lost to the Eagles the next week, well he rooted for the Patriots in the superbowl. Not because he's a bandwagon fan... but instead because he wanted revenge on the Eagles for knocking his team out lol. Come to think of it, it was actually pretty funny. So yeah, thats my story.

I AGREE 100%! Last year all you saw here in San Diego were powder blue #21 Tomlinson jerseys! They couldn't name 5 players on our own team, but boy were they on the bandwagon! EVERYBODY was a San Diego fan when we headed into the playoffs at 14-2. But where were all of these so called "fans" when we went 9-7 in 2005? Or when we went 4-12 in 2003? Or when we went 1-15 in 2000? Come to think of it, where are all of the San Diego "fans" now that we're having a rocky 1-2 start???????? (by the way I proudly wear a #14 Dan Fouts jersey thank you very much) As for Patriot fans......I can't stand them. Funny story.....I was in a BJ's pizza during week 1. A guy wearing a Tom Brady jersey was chearing every time the Chargers made a bad play. It's one thing to chear for your team, it's another to chear AGAINST somebody elses for no other reason than to be a dicckhead. Anyway, I asked him what part of New England he was from? He said "I'm not from New England." I laughed and thanked him for proving my point.

I have to agree with you. I'm a Broncos fan and have been since the time I could walk.

I moved away from Colorado about 15 years ago. When I got to where I live now, no one around here was a Broncos fan. In fact, they were more like the team to hate. Everybody around here was a Cowboys, Seahawks, 49ers, or Raiders fan.

Of course after the late 90's EVERYBODY around here started donning Blue and Orange.

I stuck with my team when they sucked a*s, when they lost Super Bowl after Superbowl, when they didnt' make the playoffs...etc.

I will always love those boys. GO BRONCOS!!
Bandwagonners go home!

Personally I'll live and die a Cowboys fan and can watch them play good or bad. Now that doesn't make me blind to any shortcomings my favorite team has that would be ignorant. As far as band-wagon jumping I don't think you have to be bound to just one team. When other teams are playing well why can't I appreciate their success? After all, we want to see WINNERS dont' we? But these days, with free-agency and players moving from team to team, it's almost easier to be a fan of the player and not the team.

I am with you! The worst was in the early 80's. EVERYONE in the Bay Area was a Raiders fan - you never saw a 49ers jacket or cap. Then, all of a sudden, the 49ers got good and started winning Super Bowls. Suddenly, all those people who were wearing Raiders caps are now sporting 49ers garb, and talking about how loyal they always were and how they suffered through the lean years with the 49ers. It made me want to slap them! I've hated the 49ers ever since.

I completely feel you on this. I have always been a Bears fan and I moved to Indianapolis last year. (Just my luck, right). Anyway, all these band wagoners started acting like they have been fans always since they have lived in Indy their whole life.

The main point is that they don't know anything about the team except for this past season. It makes me sick. Just ask majority of them to name seven people on the team and they can't do it. That's how you know they are a band wagoner.

I'm sorry... you're going to get idiots like that all around the world.

Most... NOT ALL so don't chew me out... most patriots fans are bandwagoners because of their superbowl rings.

Same way with the florida gators.. everyone had their team then the gators win back to back basketball and undeservingly wins the Bull Crap Series championship and out of nowhere... fans pop up around the US. It just doesn't work like that people.. i'm sorry. Stop your idiocracy and trying to say you're the greatest when you didn't deserve to even be in the National football Championship game in the beginning.

I'm with ya man... though i'm kinda of stuck when i'm both a bears and colts fan.. then they both make the superbowl... odd times. but yeah... bandwagoners are idiots

well theres just some people that have to be ignored, if you cant say who your team is before the season starts then maybe you shouldnt be calling your self a fan! Vikings and Colts my teams from the beginning but i'll admit that when your teams knock'd off being a fan of the sport your are allowed to pull for a team still alive.
