I am planning to do two courses at the same time (because I like them both, I want to study Science Politics and the Universe), do you guys think that it's gonna be a lot of work? Because I have a friend, who's in college and she says that she doesn't sleep because she has to be always studying.

But what do you think?

For most colleges you enroll in from 4 to 6 courses at a time. The classes last about three months. At the end of the term you switch to another set of courses, although a lot of science courses are divided into two parts so you take one part in the fall and the other part in the spring.

Your description of what you want to do is pretty vague. Do you mean astronomy or physics? or science in general? if you are unclear about what you want to study that is ok. In most colleges you are required to take a set of different courses that cover a wide area of subjects. After your first or second year you pick one main area or "major" that you are going to concentrate on. When you are a 1st year student you can try some different courses and then the next three years you can take more courses in the main subjects that interest you.

Don't worry about your friend. If you are good at organizing your time you can study, sleep, work a part time job and have fun too!

Good luck!

I study political science & I love it. But colleges won't let you enroll in two classes at the same time.
So save one for the next time and college is a lot of hard work. It is very time consuming so if you are taking classes to have fun...don't. Maybe you can take the classes at different times of the day like Poli Sci at 10 am and Astronomy at noon. Or one class on Mon. & Weds and the other on Tues. & Thurs. Consider also the cost of books (they are very expensive).
Good luck

do you mean two classes, or two majors simultaneously?? The norm is to take more than one class at a time in college. If you mean taking to majors, then heck yeah, that's gonna be a lot of hard work. Each program has different pre-reqs and graduation requirements.

If you simply mean two courses (classes) I can't forsee that being too much extra work at all.

It depends on how you learn. If your friend doesn't absorb information very well, then they may need to study more. If you are a quick learner, you won't need to study that much. College is definately more difficult than high school and you are given way more indpendence, but it's up to you to decide when enough is enough. So take the classes, if you find it too difficult, drop one.

Good luck!

Have you thought about what kind of career you can enter after you graduate with a degree in either of those subjects?

How about something like science education for your major and then find out if you really like these far-fetched college subjects?
