...their own unrealistic expectations of themselves, a lack of appreciation for things that REALLY matter and an acknowledgement of the fact that we are all created differently...

The things that most affects women about their looks is what other people have to say or think. Some have had people either tell them they look good all the time or constantly put them down. Also society has an image that everyone should look a certain way but if we were all supposed to look the same God would have made us teh same.If people can not accept you the way you are, stay away from them!

Weight and skin,
we are always thinking why cant i look like ''her''
or I'm so fat.
or my hair is a mess.
we say this because we care what other people think,
well if not other women , we care what men think,
we do extra things trying to make them notice us.
and usually it doesn't work, but we get the satisfaction of looking nice and when we do look bad we pretend we don't care, but in all actuality we care a lot.
MY advice is to dress how you feel, eat what you want its your style and if someone has a complaint then screw them!
Good luck.

There parents perception of themselves
This perception imprints on the child.
On Oprah, there was this American-Asian chick (she's host of MTV or something) who was all freaking out because she didn't have an "Eye Crease." News to me .. but the Asians are all freaking out about this and "Eye Crease" sugary is the most performed in the world (remember, China has tons of ppl doing this). I would have never had noticed unless she told me ... and she said that her mom was the one who taught her to freak over it.
Another Afro-American woman on this show prayed over and over that her son wouldn't be a dark black (she wanted a lighter black) while he was in the womb. Guess what, the son's all messed up about his dark skin ... and only he and his mother are super freaked over it. His buddies think he's all messed up and stuff.

what use to effects me was my tone of body, i am 117 lbs and i am 5'1. I hate being short cuz i cant put my weight anywhere but in my thighs and lil in my waist. But now days, guys dont like the skinny as a board girls anymore, they like to grab on to something every now and again. I am happy with how im shaped just because i have a lil bit of curves now, so its not like im a whale or anything. But what mostly effects girls are weight, skin tone, breast and their buttocks......not there hair so much anymore, what guys come up to you and say, "Oh, I like your hair?" Most guys now a days like feet and sh!t like that.

The distorted image that the media portrays. I think it has a very negative affect, especially on young girls.

other women's opinions.
you go to a party and all the men will be wearing black tuxedo each time
you see two women wear the same dress and they will be horrified.
Women starve themselves, get plastic surgery and spend more money on clothes to please the other catty women
men don't really care that much if you have blackheads, paris hilton's weight, or wear designer clothes
