Have you ever heard of beach houses that you can join for weekends in the summer?

In Dewey Beach and Rehobeth Beach Deleware, people rent large houses near or on the beach and run "beach houses". Much fun! You can join to go every weekend or everyother weekend. Houses frequently have "house parties and invite other house. Have you heard of this concept at any other beaches?
