No we canot stop death, but just because you die, doesn't mean your time is over. Maybe on Earth, but not gone forever!
These days we are never sure if someone may come up with some way to 'stop' death, but so far, no one has succeeded that far yet.
Why would you want to continue with life, and age, when you can get rid of it all, and be happy, painless, and free! :) Death isn't so bad, and if you are missing someone or lose someone someday, always remember you will see them one the other side. Death can't be prevented, but that doesn't mean your destination is over. Life goes on after death.... just have faith! <3 Sarah!!

Yes, we actually can stop death to the point in which we designate the time and the way in which we want to die.
How is this possible? I'll tell you.
In most bibles, if you read it thoroughly enough, God (or our source energy) tells us that the words we speak have absolutely everything to do with the way we live our lives and how, by the use of our tongues, we bring ourselves to death.
So, if you're looking for a long life, you must believe you can have it, speak it the way you want it, and it shall be done. It's the LAW of God, and of the universe that we acquire what we seek and speak of most. If you speak sickness and disease and worry for every symptom, then this is what you'll attract.
The energy and 'the spoken word' is what created the universe, and us. We must take a lesson from that teaching. You are what you think you are; your abilities to control your life are endless because each of us is a part of the energy from which we came. Think about that one for awhile.

That is a multi faceted questions filled with deep philosophical rammifacations.
How do you define death, is what would need to first be established.
Would you want to stop death, if death was merely a transition to a different conciousness?
Not an end where we rot in the ground and are nothing?
It depends on how you see it, I would suppose.

Death does not exist because life is continually evolving. What is called death is a temporary transition to the continuity of eternity of which all life is part of. One of the best exemples of this process is through the seasons.

Some would say that death is an illusion... this is based on the belief that though the physical body is temporary, the spiritual body will continue on.

No.
Many believe in a Nirvana state ... Christains cling to scripture which says, "I knew you before you were born" . So, if life is pre-destined, then you can't stop life.
Death ... well even our Sun is predicted to die in about a billion years. So if a mythology like vampires actually existed ... well, unless they found a new planet they'd be SOL.

Nope, death is the greatest equalizer, it is what forces us to live - without death life would have no meaning.

Of course we can't we can only prolong it.(to a certain extent.) so if some new thing comes out that will help us to live longer it will but eventually it will wear off and we will die.
