From the perspective of building a team, I would say...
Manning - He's basically not human.
Palmer - When he's on, he's miraculous. But he's not always on... I think there will be an improvement this year since he might be mentally over the injury.
Brees - He's a competitor, and though his shoulder will always be a worry, he fights for it.

I admire Brady, but he can get frustrated by the right defenses, and he doesn't have the gun the other 3 do... acurate, just not wonderfully deep.
Also, keep an eye on some of the young guys. Cutler (cannon for an arm, acurate, strong), Romo (good arm, playmaker), Young (uber-athlete), Rivers (super accurate, patient), and Leinart (very smart, same vein as Brady) might start really standing out with their second year starts... and pure talent wise... they may be very scary. Right now, it's all possibility.

Brady and Manning.. defintely.. But what has Palmer ever done, except do sexually insinuating hot dog commercials! Palmer will always be one of those guys with OK numbers, but won't win. How can you do that ad and expect to win at football? I wonder if his girlfriend is jelous of that hotdog?

Drew Brees is the 3rd of the three best, btw... and Big Ben Roethlisberger will have a better season than Palmer.

1. Peyton Manning. Cannon for an arm, deadly accurate, team player. He's the only true field general in the NFL.

2. Drew Brees. Also has a cannon for an arm and is very accurate. Makes great decisions and can run if needed.

3. Tom Brady. The only reason he makes this list is because of his 3 rings. he might not deserve them, but he has them. He can get the ball in the receivers territory and it's gentle enough for his receivers to catch.

Honorable mention: Carson Palmer, Donovan McNabb, Jeff Garcia

I don't know about "first ballot hall of famers" for these guys yet because their only in their 10th, 8th, and 5th year in the league. Manning looks to be a hall of famer at the pace he's going. Tom Brady might be a hall of famer if he keeps up all the wins, but i dont know about first ballot because people will look at the wins and say that was more of a team effort, not all of the QB's doing. Palmer has the make up of a hall of famer, but its still waaay to early to declare him a hall of famer; hes a great QB, close to one of the best in the game, and should continue to grow with time. But as I said its still too early for us to claim them hall of famers, especially with the likes of Brett Favre, Joe Montana, John Elway and Dan Marino.
