So, the major unions in South Africa are on strike at the moment. I had to drive past a group of protestors to get to work this morning. I felt unsafe doing this, they love throwing bricks through your car's windows. We had to move our cars from in front of the school as the protestors sometimes get violent, they have no problem destroying anyone's property. I had to evacuate my classroom as there were protestors coming to protest outside our school. We had all the parents come and fetch their kids. We heard gun fire! There is a possibility that it might get worse tomorrow. We have armed guards at the school, the police are on high alert. Most schools are closed.

The principal of my school says "We will not be intimidated by these people. We will be at school tomorrow and we will be open for business as usual."

So, I found out today we had armed parents (mostly cops) at school yesterday, ready to defend us . I am proud of the parents of my school. School was out today. I was at school for an hour today.

Nope - not going in until the violence is under control, no mater what the idiot principal says. That's no way to live, work or raise children.

You can move as you are a grown-up. But what about those little kids and their parents who might not be able to move out. What about them?
Request the principal to close the school for the time being. Its unnecessary to be egotist at this point of time.

As they say, don't be ever a rat on Titanic.

stand by the principal and give the children the education that the protesters obviously didn't have the opportunity to experience
