Actually I really like where they are at currently. Other than some injury problems currently in the pen they are putting up incredible offensive numbers (Sheffield sure made the rest of the boys much better hitters...fear of one big bat does that). The current pen troubles can be attributed to guys pitching in different roles than they are accustomed to, once they get everyone healthy things should be fine. And Kenny Rogers is already longtossing and pitched a simulated game so he will be back in somewhere around 3 weeks. If anything their problem might end up being too many starting pitchers (some problem to have!) so if Leyland decides he wants to add a peice he will have options available with all the excess starters (and 3 very good ones waiting in the minors). Jones likes to make things exciting on occasion but the bottom line is he closes games at one of the highest success rates in all of baseball (doesnt have to be pretty...just as long as he keeps piling on the saves). Leyland seems very satisfied with the makeup and effort of this team so I think we can expect barring a major injury to be back in the playoffs again this year. And who knows...maybe a World Series title!

As a Tigers fan, I do think of they're puffed up. They gave up too plenty youthful expertise to get those gamers, besides the certainty that I do precisely like the addition of Renteria. i think of that in the event that they are able to stay healthful and Robertson and their different starters take place to play 4 out of five nights, then they are going to be no longer basic this season. After this season, they are going to ought to make extra acquisitions. one element to bear in mind for people who do no longer shop on with the Tigers: they're owned by utilising Little Caesar's founder Mike Illitch, who owns the crimson Wings. He replaced into able to construct contenders by utilising paying for gamers, and after the 2002 Championship, he vowed a worldwide sequence call for Detroit as properly, so i does no longer be shocked if he retains spending.

I really don't think we need another bat. We already have the best offense in the AL. What we do need is our bullpen up to full strength and a consistent closer. I like Jones but when he is off he is horrible.

You have the best offense in the majors and you want more power?? Typical Michigan fan, uninformed. Also, that bullpin help you so desperatly want is on the DL. Two of the best middle relievers in the game (fernando rodeny and joel zumaya) are both injured. You aren't lacking any piece, you need your bullpin to get healthy.

Like a ring that was stolen or given away last fall? Yeah, they're missing a piece of jewelry.
