Is the fan blowing well? Do you have good air movement? If you don't have good air movement, turn off the unit and open the cabinet and inspect the fan, motor and indoor coil (thing that looks like a radiator). If it is clogged, gently clean it with a soft brush. If it is clean, and the fan looks good, turn on the unit and watch to see if the motor turns quickly or not. You might have an electrical problem with the motor.

Is the outdoor unit running? Feel the two lines running to/from the unit. The larger line should be very cold, the smaller line warm or hot. Be very careful of the smaller line, in some conditions it can be hot enough to cause burns.
If the line is not cold, and the outdoor unit is running, contact a reputable AC repair company.

Good luck.

you may need a shot of 22, but you need to have the unit leak checked. Let me clear up something, REFRIGERANT DOES NOT GO BAD!! If you need some every year, you have a leak. If you have a leak and you call in a tech, he/she should fix the leak before dumping in any gas. Any tech who says you need a rechrge and only does that is subject to a Texas a** whoopin'!

Try to find a company that offers free estimates. R22 is around $90 per 30lb can here, so do the math and see who has the better deal where you are. And as always, make sure the repair is guaranteed.

it incredibly is taken under consideration mandatory to alter the clear out many times. there's available which you have some grant air ducts disconnected, yet maximum probable the two your a/c device is low on freon and the evaporator coil starts off to ice-up proscribing air flow or the evap coil already has a blanket of airborne dirt and mud in the time of it proscribing air flow, the two way you will in all probability desire an approved provider technician (like myself) to precise diagnose it.

Sounds like you might need your unit recharged, you might want to call a heating and cooling co. to come out and take a pressure test on your system.
