A stocker at Wal-Mart or a package handler at UPS? I'm currently a stocker at Wal-Mart but might have a chance to become a package handler at UPS. Wal-Mart is definitely the easier job but it doesn't have as good of pay ($8.80/hr.) or benefits. With UPS, I'd get great benefits, plus better pay ($9.50/hr.) However, the UPS job might be more taxing on my body because I'd be lifting more. What do you think?

From experience i now UPS is very non forgiving if their is such a word. If you decide to work there you must do your job in a certain amount of time or you will be let go. I do think there is more opportunity and benefits with UPS, if you want to really get ahead give it your all and go with UPS.

Before you decide, extrapolate. That is, compare earning potential in two or three years in both companies. What ever you do, don't get injured at work. Never push as hard as you can. Walmart is the third largest company in the world. A Juggernaut that will roll over the top of you if you're out on injury.

A friend of mine worked at UPS as a second job. It only lasted 3 months before he said he couldn't take it anymore. And he's in great shape!

Go for UPS and use a back brace if you think it will be taxing on your body.
