my little girl moved up through the birthing process - its unusual but it happens.
call your er and let them know about the short sharp pains. they would rather you come in, get checked out, and sent home for a false alarm than you have problems later.
congrats and good luck!!

Sounds like the little one will be on it's way soon! 40 weeks is completely normal. After 40 weeks your placenta slowly starts to deteriorate and is no longer the best place for your child if you go WAY past that, but every woman's body is different and if your doctors suspected ANYTHING was wrong, they'd take immediate action. I'm sure they are seeing you often. Your pains sound like contractions, I know that much! ;) Your baby is dropping lower into the birth canal and that pain is a sign that everything is moving forward just as it's supposed to!
Don't hesitate to go into the hospital if the pain becomes too much. That's what they are there for! Hospital or home, do what feels most comfortable for you. I preferred the drugs asap, but that's me! And get that epidural!
Congratulations and enjoy this special time... It goes by way too fast! Good luck.

Had the same thing with mine, I remember yelping out in pain a lot in Tesco's and people kind of, moving away from me! Must of thought I was about to give birth! Its the pressure of the babies head on your pubic bone and nerves. Sit back and relax, stay off your feet, enjoy!

By this time your baby has probably dropped down and is putting alot of preasure on you. The pain is normal considering the size of your baby, hang in there. Dont be worried unless you start to bleed/spot. Some MD's will let you go 2 weeks over before they do anything, then there are those who will induce on your due date. Ask your MD maybe you can sch. induction (though I wouldnt advise that).

i went up to 43 week and still had no pain or mucus plug coming out or not even water break. I was induced. My baby moved like crazy during the last few weeks. but to be on a safer side...call your OBGYN to make sure. Good luck with the baby!!!

That happened to me. My baby was very active. He's probably engaged already and that's why you feel those sharp pains when he moves. Tell your doctor about this at your next appointment. If the pain becomes excruciating, or you start bleeding, go see your doctor right away. Good luck and congratulations!

Have you found out if the baby has dropped. If so that may be what you are feeling, also are you dialating yet? You need to time the pains to see if you are in labor, and Call your OB

don't experience undesirable. besides the certainty that i did no longer experience depressing each and each of how with the aid of my being pregnant, the previous couple of weeks sucked incredibly undesirable. the only element that saved me sane replaced into the seen my astonishing infant. I gave delivery at 38 weeks, thank God, i do no longer think of that i ought to have made it to 40 ... i've got faith for you. I felt like I had the flu precise after giving delivery. It lasted for a minimum of two weeks, i think of that it replaced into the ask your self that my physique replaced into dealing with. i prefer to propose which you spot your Dr, while i replaced into sick throughout my being pregnant my Dr stated that it would be okay to take some Tylenol for my aches and pains. so a good distance as inducing is going, in simple terms be as affected person as you probable could be. Inducing can become an extremely risky concern. you've gotten your infant, there is not any doubt approximately that, and whilst your Dr. could be obdurate i might desire that he has yours and your infant's ultimate activity at heart. in simple terms think of of it this form, in case you haven't any longer had your infant yet in line with danger it incredibly is simply by fact she/he's not fairly waiting. you does no longer prefer to hurry it would you? Being born is a great deal =). Congratulations and good luck.
