It's a complete falsehood. Even Snopes.com addressed it and debunked it.

Clinton was never a draft dodger so he never needed a pardon. Clinton used patronage to get favorable treatment and deferments, just like Bush did, but he eventually agreed to enter the draft and never avoided entry into service after entering the draft lottery.

Bottom line, Clinton had valid deferments at all times and was never in violation of the draft law.

Cons will hold onto any delusion I suppose, no matter how irrefutable the truth and no matter how many times it's put in their faces.

LOL, the truth never stands in the way for some people, just like the second poster.

You post the proof right there for them, and still they refuse to accept it.

Read the Snopes link, folks. It lays out the truth for you right there in black and white.

While Clinton may have acted unethically in reneging on promises he made to an ROTC representative, NOTHING he did violated any laws.

Ergo, you don't need a pardon if you haven't committed a crime.

Clinton lied to an ROTC director to get accepted into the program when he had an early draft number. He got the number revoked. He then declined the program, put himself back into draft eligibility, got a much later number, and escaped that way.

So no, he did not dodge the draft, he lied his way out of the need to dodge the draft, and thus avoid service in the military that he loathed.

let's pretend that everything Slick Willie did to stay out of harms way was legal. It's just like a liberal democrat to use technicalities to justify themselves.
even if reneging on a promise to an ROTC representative is not illegal, it at the very least shows what a coward he is. He should have stayed in Europe. He is a weasel and can't be trusted.
Maybe he didn't receive a pardon for his actions during that time frame, O.J. never received one for killing his wife, doesn't mean he was truly innocent.
Study the socialist manifesto, then take a cold hard look at the speeches and actions of the Clintons. Be honest with yourself. Perfect fit.
Maybe you are right. Maybe, he didn't receive a pardon. But, personally his actions to try and avoid Vietnam are the least of the offenses he's done against this country.

I just had that question playing Trivial Pursuit the other night. Carter pardoned all of the Vietnam draft dodgers. Clinton was a draft dodger, so would he have not been included?

I never even heard that story.

However, the Carter general pardon did include pardoning Kerry for his anti-war activities and consorting with the enemy during wartime. That's why his DD214 and citations have dates during the Carter administration.

Conservatives blame everything on Clinton. They are convinced that he's committed every crime, and every wrong known to man.
Which is pure idiocy since he co-opted many of their favorite issues during his presidency: NAFTA,anti-crime bill, balanced budget, welfare reform...

Until you posted that I never heard that before.

I do know that Clinton avoided going to Vietnam because he "loath" the military and that is correct.

Right, history re-written again. Now why don't you tell us how Clinton wasn't among the 1% of Rhodes Scholars who didn't graduate and how he didn't spend most of his time in Europe sticking coke up his nose.
