Hey, this is an awesome question, there is nothing what so ever wrong with wearing a shirt when swimming, though dont wear a shirt for swimming, wear a singlet/t-shirt that is made out of polyester, this is the same sort of material that swimsuits are made of, it absorbs the water, so you dont get any airbubbles, blowing you t-shirt up, also it is very fast drying, they are very comfortable, and dont get in the way of your swimming, I live in the only place in the world that suffers from the worlds pollution, New Zealand, which is south east of Austrailia, home to Lord of the Rings, and if you stay out in the sun in summer over about 15 minutes on a hot day, you will be badly burned, so covering yourself up with swimwear and a minimum of 30+ Sunscreen is essential, follow my and others advice about wearing special swimwear tops, polyester is the way to go, All the best to you, if people have a problem with it, its their problem, its your body and you wear what you want to wear, Boys can swim in a shirt.

Of course you can! I swim in a T-shirt all the time, indoors and out

It's not uncomfortable at all if you ask me. And as for what other people think: they're mostly just minding their own business

You can wear whatever kind of swimwear suits you!

It's not the most confortable thing to do.

My skin is very sensitive to the sun, so if I'm on the beach I need to use a tshirt to swim, but indoors and when the sun isn't at the maximum power its a lot more confortable shirtless.

Up until the 1940s, men were required to wear a top while swimming in public.

Don't believe me? Go ask your great grandparents.

of course, as long as you don't mind, nobody would mind if you swim in a shirt.

sure - there is nothing wrong with that although some will look at you a little funny. Just tell them that you have a scar that has not been fixed yet and they should leave you alone.
