Why is it that white people always try to turn racism around on the minorities?

As soon as a black person tells them about their rude behovior a white person brings up Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson like they represent the black community.

Would it be fair to bring up Bush and his evil-doings. Probably not since most white people don't associate with their culture and flock to people of color to escape being seen as racists.

I agree with you 100%. We live this everyday and many of them are constantly trying to pretend as if it doesn't exist in the first place or like we shouldn't speak on it as because it has not effect on them. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson aren't even militant leaders. Many whites see them taking a firm active role in advancing black cause and turn it into a negative. Reverse racism does not exist, many whites often take the defensive REACTIONS blacks take as Reverse Racism when blacks are only reacting to their experiences with racism in the first place.

It's only natural for other races to not understand all the things at play when it comes to a situation they will never live themselves. A white person wouldn't know what it's like to be black, so they shouldn't make presumptions about the plight of blacks and their reactions to they racism they live everyday. Just because the laws that govern racism have slowly diminished over the hundreds of years, that doesn't mean that the attitudes and sentiments of many went anywhere, a lot of it is still right here.

NO...I do not think that most whites are racist, but I do know for myself that many whites do try and turn racism around on the minorities. I'm not bring up what happened during slavery, despite my having every reason to, but when people say that was so long ago and it's been made right, I see racism in those statements too. Nobody’s telling Jewish whites to forget the Holocaust as if it weren't that bad. That happened for a matter of year and slavery lasted for hundreds. They had one or two countries after them and slavery was worldwide.

Do I detect a slight hint of racism in your post??? You have to understand a few things, one being that not all people are alike.

Not all Blacks shuck and jive and collect welfare.
Not all whites use Al and Jesse as examples of ripping off minorities.
Not all Blacks are dump, drugged out dopers.
Not all Whites belong to the KKK or some other hate group.

You will find that most whites:

1. Try to judge people on their own merits.
2. Try to do for others the way others do for us.
3. Get offended when called racist just because our skin is white, like many people used the "N" word, just because someones skin was black.

Just to make a quick point here, and your reaction will tell the tale of whether deep down your racist or not.

1. Its OK to have a Black History month, would you object to a White History month???

2. We have the Ms Black America Beauty Pageant, would you object to a Ms White America Beauty Pageant. ( all others, Miss USA, Miss Universe etc, open to all races)

Also, what does Bush have to do with this and what evil-doings??? Fighting Terror??? Going into Iraq based on information, the same information Congress voted to support him on, then changed their minds???

Think about that for a while and then look in the mirror and see if you are racist or not.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson do represent much of the black community. There aren't very many black leaders who speak out against them.

Well I see that both ways. I have never experienced this until my rude neighbor moved in. I am white and she is black and she threw trash at my car and scratched it and then called me racist for calling the police. I never speak to her and she keeps screaming and yelling at me and calling me a white b****. I tried to calmly talk to her but she just yells over me. I have no problems with other members of her household they are content to mind their own business as I do.

You are right though for the most part I am it is easier to just say that a person is racist than to correct their own behavior. I have worked with the police (even a black officer) to do whatever I can with this woman and she is still on my case.

It is just a convenient excuse for the most part

As far as Bush goes or presidents go for that matter I find that they do a lot to please the wealthy people in the nation and very few of them are not white. I find that more and more working class people are blind to this and they don't realize that supporting this is wrong no matter what color they are.

Do George Bush and Dick Cheny represent all White people? They don't represent me. I do believe that some minorities use racism as a crutch to allow them theirracism and to block any defense against it. I would remember that just because there is a minority race doesn't mean it doesn't have racists there are as many Black and Hispanic Racists as there are White racists I pay both side no mind . I think all racists are half wits and to use there tactics on them just lowers yourself to their level.

"Always try to turn to racism" is very encompassing. Perhaps white people in your sphere of influence. If by your statement you are saying that black people cannot be prejudice against white people, or any other color, think again.

"Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson like they represent the black community." Tell that to Al and Jesse - they sure act like they do. It still doesn't excuse rude behavior. Rude behavior is never acceptable - and it is not a race issue, it is a human issue.

I hope that you are not trying to suggest that President Bush is a rascist. you need to give examples of how you see that one.

because in recent years, many african american activists have used their own brand of racism against white people. There's a leader of the black panther's union that calls for the extermination of white people. I don't mean to say that all black people do this, but it's very uncalled for. It has been 150 years since slavery was abolished, and there is not a white man today who has owned a slave. White people don't need to be called names and be hated against for sins that their anscestors may or may not havec done.

Why do Blaques refuse to condemn people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton? Maybe if Whytes had some actual proof that Jesse Distraction and Al Harps-on weren't welcome in the Blaque community, then those two charlatans would go away.

That is a good question. The funny thing is that there is no such thing as "reverse racism." There is racism. Period. A lot of whites, however, mistakenly interpret the actions of black leaders as being reverse racism because they are ignorant about racial sociology and civil activism in this country. The fact is that blacks have been subject to racism since they first were brought here, and all the activities that are often called "reverse racism" are simply reactions to racism that is already in place. In other words, whites started the problem, and continue to perpetuate the problem, then try to blame you for it because many black people react in opposition to racist treatment and policies. Perhaps a few of blacks overreact in a few situations, but that is only because it is difficult to not see racism in things when so much racism does exist in so many different situations. That does not constitute racism on the part of blacks or minimalize the importance of racial relations in this country. The fact is that racism, white against black, is still alive and well in this country, albeit in more subtle forms than before. It is only natural that black people would fight this.

So, to be blunt, the whites that do this are racist and/or ignorant, and they are trying to cover it up by attempting to turn it back on you. Perhaps the best thing you can do to combat this is to educate your self on diversity and racial issues and turn THAT back on them. It is harder for them to fight the facts and a logical argument, because most of them don't have any facts to back up their claims anyway. They use anecdotal evidence like some of the actions of Sharpton and Jackson as their excuse, ignoring the fact that right or wrong, those guys are acting in REACTION to racism. That is very, very different than being racist in the first place.

In any case, try not to judge all us white people. We are not all like that! Of course, you never said we were. You are only reacting toward a very loud minority of whites who only have their own selfish and ignorant interests at heart. Good for you for standing up against racism!

Hey when a person of color calls me a cracker @ss is that racist? I think so yet if I retaliate with the n-bomb I committed a hate-crime. So yes there is reverse discrimination.
Every ethnic group and race can have (fill in the blank) pride and they are culturally aware yet let a white person say they are proud of their race and all hell breaks lose.

Reverse racism is a misnomer. It does not exist. Racism does and its an ugly thing.
The reason people go to Jesse and Al is they are always on the news, yelling " WE are still Slaves in a free world!"
Not many caucasians you see doing that, or any other minority as far as I can see.
