Seriously
When you tell a homosexual person "You know that's a sin and you are going to hell" HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THEM SAY "Oh my god! Really?! I had no idea! Thank you so very much! I owe my soul to you"?
I bet they haven’t!
Why do you bother? We already know what that book says.
Do you honestly think that being extremely rude and hateful(to the bigots) or preaching to us out of some book that some mortal guy wrote (to the others) is really going to make us magically turn heterosexual?
WHY!?
WHY!
Is all I have to say WHY? Why can't you mind your own business and start worrying about something that actually EFFECTS YOUR LIFE PHYSICALLY!
Why put any energy into homosexually?
You are just wasting your time because you are NEVER going to get the results that you want.
And also, you make looking like a Christian SCARY! Like it's a cult of hatred.
YOU do a terrible job at representing your religion! YOU have no RIGHT to judge! let your god do so and be quiet!

Well Justputs... I can't answer as a person who is against gays people because I fully support equal rights and full acceptance. However, I can answer as a 50 year old straight gent who has seen quite a lot over the past half century. You ask why these people do this? The answer is simple.

Small minded people feel an almost unresistable pull to identify someone they believe they can look down on and attack. It seems to be the only way they can assume a feeling of importance and self worth. The pitiful thing is both are false assumptions on their part.

I am a hypocrite right here. What I fairly think is in equality. Do I think in homosexual marriage? NO. Do I think is instantly marriage? NO. Marriage has devout connotations and will have to be performed away with. What each person will have to have are Civil unions (which are identified far and wide). But of path I could vote no on eight (that is sure for equality) So I do not think in any sort of marriage, adding homosexual marriage. And for the gays which are convinced with Civil Unions, you're lovely unhappy or ignorant. They don't convey the equal advantages as marriage FYI I think the distinct quantity used to be a million,046 legislation that Marriage has that Civil Unions don't.

they are not "true" Christians. i see one poster said that God told him to day such things.....and we need to see that we are wrong
oh really? and when did God say it was OK to pass judgment on other (God's privilege, not man's), and preach hatred and intolerance? He didn't! these people bigots who use religion to justify bigotry. God created and loves us all.
and, yes...they should spend their time on "real" problems like helping the poor, the destitute, the starving, the ill.....but then, as they are consumed with ignorance and hatred, they fail to see what is truly important in this world. hate and ignorance and misunderstanding are the biggest causes of this world's problems.....like violence/war, crime....unless they change, the world's problems will never end.

i am catholic and honestly i don't think that being gay is a sin.
everyone is free to do whatever they want to do, even if it were a sin, i don't want to judge anyone, but - to put it into religious terms - god made us as we are and if someone is gay, it is just what it is! god is love, god is happy if there is a bit more love in the world... no matter who shares it!!
there are much worse things that could be done... like telling a person that he/she is going to hell just because he/she is what he/she is... ever heard of tolerance and acceptance?! i agree with you view, asker...

You're always going to have those bible thumpers who have their heads so far up their yingyangs to realize that their self-righteous and holier-than-thou attitudes are a direct contradiction to the "teachings of God."

To those religious folk who constantly claim that "God works in very powerful and mysterious ways"...I say, then get the hell out of my face and let him do his job.

I say holier-than-thou people concentrate on driving out their own "Satanic forces" before even thinking of trying to work on others.

Not gay myself, I share your thoughts. I have repeatedly posted that we are to love those people of the world who are different from us, by that I mean, age, sex, religion, skin colour or sexual orientation.

We should love everyone. I do not agree with the gay/lesbian life style, but its not for me to pass judgment! NO HAS THE RIGHT!

If you ask for a verse about it, I will and only then share that. Other than that, its for you to decide whats right and wrong for you and your life. I cannot make you or anyone do anything!

good for you .. keep them talking .. its the only way to help the awareness .. one day it will be just like black and white - all are human and no dif.!!! nothing is writen in stone peeps .. sad ya seem to think that !!

my friend Nay Nay said it best in a blog she wrote - one of the paragraph stated this:

Here's some food for thought.1.) Lev 1:9 "when i burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the lord. I have a problem with my neighbors....they claim the odor is not pleasing to them, should I smite them???
Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves both male and female, provided they are purchased by neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims this applies to mexicans, but not canadians...why can't i own a canadian, can you clarify??
3.)I have friends who work on Sundays(the sabbath) In the book of Exodus 35:2 it clearly states they should be put to death...am i morally obligated to kill them myself? hmmmm...4.)I know someone who thinks eating shellfish is an abomination(lev 11:10) but it is a lesser abomination than being homosexual..i dunno...can anyone settle this for me? 5.) Lev 21:20 states we may not approach the alter of God if there is a defect in our site...i know lots of people who wear reading glasses...does their vision have to be 20/20 or is there some wiggle room there?? 6.)Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around the temples...even though this is EXPRESSLY forbidden by lev. 19:27....tell me.....how should they die???? 7.)My friends grandparents own a farm. They violate lev. 19:19 by planting 2 different crops in the same field...as does her grandmother by wearing garments made of 2 different threads. Her grandpa swears alot too...but tell me..is it really necessary to go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? as specified in LEV. 24:10...couldn't we just burn them to death with a private family affair like we do with the people who sleep with their in-laws?)lev. 20:14)
Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging, and we should do EXACTLY as the bible says!!!

best wishes ...

I'd rather they just busied themselves praying for their own souls...they are the ones filled with hate that are going to need redemption.
