Thank you. I can finnally get this off my chest. I am very old school. The term chopper has been bastardized in recent years. In the old days ,and now, any bike you owned would be STRIPPED down to the bare essentials. this can be done with any machine! The new BILLET QUEENS called "choppers" these days are anything but . My chopper is a !948 frame, 1949 engine, 1976 tranny, headlite, taillite, one fender(rear) ,front forks from 1935, gas tank, oil bag , and one fuse for five feet of wire. Thats a chopper. P.S. kicker only, no buttons please remember your building a CHOPPER!

get a bunch of catalogues. S&S, Custom Chrome, Ness, etc. etc

Look through them, and design, on paper, what you want your bike to look like.

Since you are asking on Yahoo Answers, I am guessing you are not a machinist, do not have a big shop, and have not done this before

So you will buy a bunch of kit parts. Frame, Bodywork, Motor, etc. then fit it all together.

OR? You go totally old school, and buy a bike, then hack everything off it that is not super neccesary, and call it a bobber.

good luck

the same way everyone else does, build a frame, add fork, wheels, engine, trans, tank, fenders... just go buy one crap.

It's easy if you have the money but if you have to ask I doubt you have the experience.
